the next day kenny got up and showered before putting on the clothes she set out the night before, she put on some perfume and deodorant before slipping her shoes on. she then went downstairs skipping the last two steps, she got a drink and grabbed her keys before going into the living room where her mom sat
"do you care if i hang out with a friend today?" the woman looked up from her book as kenny stood fiddling with her keys
" who is it, do i know them?" the girl shook her head moving her height from on foot to the other
" it's madeleine mcgraw, we're friends now" maggie closed her book staring at her daughter as she tapped her hands on her thighs
" i don't care, don't do anything stupid" the girl smiled saying she wont while giving her mom a kiss on the cheek before she was out the door and in her car, she's been over to mason's house before so she knew where she was going. her and madeleine were going to hang out today since kenny didn't have school, she parked in mason's driveway before going up to the door
she waited a few minutes before knocking, it took a few minutes and there were a few shouts before the door opened Mrs. Thames smiled at her telling her to come in, kenny's never been in the house she'd only picked mason up so she was amazed when she looked around. Mrs. Thames asked if she wanted a drink while she waited for maddy which she politely declined as her hands tapped her thighs, mason wandered down the stairs shouting for his mom
" oh, i didn't know you were here" kenny smiled and waved saying she was waiting for maddy, the boy nodded and went back to looking for his mom. kenny didn't even notice she left, rushed footsteps came down the steps making kenny look up maddy smiled and waved before yelling that she was leaving and Mrs. Thames appeared again asking the girl if she needed money or anything which she said no and they left
" we can go wherever you want" kenny said as she pulled out of the driveway, 'Novacane' quietly played through the car as maddy thought about where to go
" your house, that's where we can go"
" really? my house is boring" maddy laughed a little while kenny smiled before going back to her house "for warning my siblings might shout and be very annoying, oh my dog also might attack you with kisses so sorry about that to" the girl shrugged saying it was fine as kenny pulled into the driveway, they both got out and kenny walked in first to see her mom still sitting on the couch maddy walked in after
" oh my is this maddy? oh you're so pretty!" the women said moving her blanket away making maddy smile while kenny shut the door "how old are you?"
" she's fourteen ma" kenny spoke walking into the kitchen asking maddy if she wanted anything (ik maddy isn't fourteen but she is in this)
