a young girl finds out she's adopted. the problem, you ask? in her world, people can't be adopted and births are monitored. then how did her parents adopt her? how were they able to not get arrested or, even worse, killed?

she starts researching whatever she can find on adoptions, but the governments have censored everything from libraries and anywhere else. the only way she has to find something out is to ask her biological parents, but when she questions that, she discovers they're not humans: they're mythological creatures and she has no other choice but to break the law – magic was prohibited as well – and find a way to reach out to them to find out more about their world, in which she actually finds comfort and, unexpectedly, a girlfriend.
