The two boys somehow manage to get of the tree by working together, even though it's mainly Xavier helping Emmett get down.
When they finally reach the bottom of the tree, they almost fall over because of the strong current of the already knee-high water.
Emmett manages to grab Xavier's arm before he gets pulled of his feet.
Xavier: Thanks. Lets go now, before it gets to dark.
Emmett just nods, before following his friend deeper into the forest. Normally they would've reached the cabin after just two minutes, but the wind, the darkness and the rain makes them incredibly slow.
Emmett trips, landing face first in the ankle deep water.
He feels the stones on the mossy ground scrape his hands and knees and holds back a pained whine, hissing instead. Xavier grabs his wrist, pulling him up and towards the already visible cabin in the distance.
After a few more minutes they reach it, the rain now even stronger and the water on the floor only reaching their toes.
They pass the little fireplace Oliver and Xavier built a few years ago, the stoes black from coal and the logs to sit on wet and cold.
Xavier takes the key to the old, rusty door out from below one of the wooden planks, opening the door with a loud creak.
It's dark and cool inside the cabin, but at least it's not windy.

Emmett immediatly runs to the fireplace, lighting it with the wood and a lighter in one of the barrels beside it, while Xavier starts taking of his shirt.
When the fire finally starts burning, Xavier is already at his boxers.
Emmett: What are you doing?! Xavier: It's cold and our clothes are wet. There are some spare ones in one of the boxes by the bed. We should put those on.
As Xavier takes his underwear of, Emmett turns his head away, cheeks burning. Even though he's seen Xavier naked a couple of times already, something's different.
