Emily and Nixerion were exploring the Plaza in the new town they moved to. Her parents had died in 2155 by a car crash, and staying in the house they had lived in was too much of a reminder that they were gone. Emily walked on the pavement, looking at everything.
"Stop doing that. You look like a lost puppy." Nixerion commented.
"Well, its not my fault I'm new here. I have to find the school, and a few other stores too. So stop being such a grumpy little kitty." Emily retorted. Nix huffed and crawled to her shoulders. She scratched behind his ears subconsciously, making him purr a little."Good kitty."
Emily then stopped a man, look to be about in his fifties. "Excuse me, could you point me to the high school here?" She asked quietly. He looked her up and down. She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. He finally pointed out the high school, about 10 minutes away.
"Thank you.." Emily said shyly. She began to walk away slowly.
"Wait. You are new here, are you not?" He said, with a raspy voice. "If so, take my advice. Don't open your Windows at night."
"O-okay..bye!" Emily said quickly and turned around
Nixerion felt her distress and hissed at the poor man. What could that mean, don't open your window at night?
That was all Emily could think about as she was walking home.
