(A/N: sorry for the delay but openai is charging me to use it now so new chapters are gonna come out a bit more slowly :( my bad)

You always enjoyed watching the Sniper from afar. He was so calm and collected, never losing his cool no matter what the situation. It was admirable, really.

One day, you mustered up the courage to approach him.

"Hey there," you said, smiling shyly.

The Sniper turned to look at you, and you were instantly entranced by his piercing blue eyes.

"Hello, love," he replied, his accent sending shivers down your spine.

From then on, you and the Sniper became close friends. He would always offer to help you with your aim, and you would always listen eagerly.

One day, you finally mustered up the courage to confess your feelings to him.

"Sniper, I-I love you," you said, blushing furiously.

The Sniper looked at you for a moment before smiling.

"I love you too, (Y/N)," he replied, leaning in to kiss you. You were about to kiss him back, when suddenly...

---

"HEADSHOT!"

You were snapped out of your reverie by the Sniper's voice.

"What?" you asked, confused.

"You were daydreaming," the Sniper explained, frowning. "I was just trying to help you with your aim, but it seems like you were somewhere else entirely."

You blushed even harder, but you couldn't help but laugh.

"I guess I was," you admitted."Getting distracted like that gets you killed, mate." He said sternly. "You need to stay focused and pay attention at all times. Or you won't have a job to do when this is all over."

"Oh, you don't need to be so cynical, mate," you said, giving him a smile. "I know it 's tough being out here with nothing to do all day, but you're a Sniper - you can't just sit around."

The Sniper shrugged. "Suit yourself. Now, what were you daydreaming about?"

"Uhh... well-"

Just then, Demoman jogged up to the two of you with Soldier and Scout in tow.

"Yo, dude," Scout said, "We found a bunch of booby traps, and some dudes with chainsaws, but it seems like they're all dead or something. You guys hear that? They think we're dead, too!"

The Sniper, flabbergasted, stared at Demoman.

"Dude, they think you're dead?" he exclaimed. "Who the hell would think you're dead?"

"I 'unno," Demoman admitted, "but they're bloody well freaked out."

"Lucky for us, they haven't died yet. We can kill them if they think we're dead." Sniper retorted.

"They're dead alright, look, here's the plan-"

"Wait, why are we killing them if they're dead?" you asked, completely confused.

"Well, yeah, but don't worry, we're gonna have backup." Sniper replied. "Just stay out of sight, we're gonna make sure that they stay dead."

Merasmus arrived on the scene.

"Hey guys," he said, a devious grin on his face. "We're not dead yet, so we should do something about that, right?

"First of all," the Sniper said, "this isn't real. This is a computer game and the Sniper is just a simulation."

"Oh, ok, right then," Demoman replied, "Looks like we've got some work to do."

"...Right," Sniper said. "Come on, let's get to work."

They all got to work killing the people with the chainsaws. They were definitely dead now.

"Sniper, what did you mean earlier? When you said this was all a computer game?" You asked.

"Oh, that," the Sniper replied, "I just thought they were watching our backs for the monsters or something. But as it turns out, there aren't any monsters."

Spy and Medic arrived wielding their signature one-handed weapons, the Sniper taking the Sniper Scythe and Medic the Medic Sling.

"You guys good?" the Medic asked.

"Yup, just about done here," Spy replied, pointing the Scythe at one of the booby traps. "You know, if they were hacking the computer game all along, we were just playing a simulated version of it."

"Hey, that's just funny," Medic replied. "Who would come up with that?"

"Um... I don't think I should tell you. You're still the Spy, right?" Spy asked. Medic nodded, blushing a little and not looking at him, a trace of embarrassment clearly present in his voice.

"Thanks," Sniper said. "Now we have to finish them off, don't we?"

"So, you guys are all good?" Medic asked.

"None of you are making any goddamned sense!" You yelled, clearly frustrated. "Where's Engineer? I need to talk to him. You're all acting so fucking strange."

"We had to kill the monsters," the Medic answered.

"That doesn't answer my fucking question." You were getting exasperated now. "Whatever, I'll find him on my own." You stormed away from the group, leaving Sniper feeling confused and the Sniper Clan completely confused.

You found Engineer in your room. He had the Chosen One Avatar of Courage and was flying around your room, his fists clenched together. You didn't want to interrupt him, but when you walked in, he gestured towards you.

"Greetings, (Y/N)," Engineer said, his voice deep and resonant. He wasn't looking at you, instead staring at the avatar. "What can I do for you?"

"What the hell is this? What's going on?" You asked, ignoring Engineer's question.

"This isn't a game, and the monsters are real." Engineer replied, clearly irritated. "Do you realize what could have happened if you had killed them? Imagine if you had been in their position!"

You frowned, saddened by the idea. You had killed the monsters earlier, but if you had, they would have killed you. Even now, the sounds of the dying people was haunting you.

"You should come outside. Sniper and the others are alive." You told him.

Engineer nodded, and the two of you walked back out onto the firing range. You could feel eyes watching you as you did, but that was impossible.

"Listen," Sniper said, addressing the others. "We are the Sniper Clan. We're here to make the world a better place."

You eyed Sniper as he spoke, blushing a little in response to his trademark expression. He continued.

"I said that was our job. Not just what we do, but who we are as people. We're not a mercenary squad or anything like that. We don't have any pistols, plasma rifles or rocket launchers. We don't kill people. We fight monsters. We aren't about to lose our minds when we see a pile of undead victims. We are warriors, and we can make the world a lot like the one we have in our games."

You remained silent, blushing deeply at his heartfelt speech. He continued.

"Look, the Boss is dead. It's not like she could come back. We've got something we need to do. Now let's get to it"

(A/N: ok so i guess red team has just become a sniper clan that fights monsters now)
