I walked slowly back into the living room and sat down beside Ariana on the couch. I notice her dialling a number with her phone. My dad's number to be precise.

"I found her." I stated with my voice emotionally thick with tears. She dropped the phone in her hand on the couch and turned to face me.

"Where? She called you, someone found her?" She asked a little confused.

"She's in my bedroom." I sniffed. "Sleeping." Her face relaxed and she moved closer to me.

"Cassy, I'm so sorry that all these is happening to you." She held my hands in hers and I rested my head on her shoulder.

"I love you Ariana." I stated out of appreciation. She has always been there for me. She is- after my mom, the best thing that has happened to me yet.

"I love you much more, Cassy." She replied and squeezed my hands to emphasize how much. She looked at me and smiled, making me wonder what she saw.

"What?" I asked her as I turned to look behind me. She said nothing as her smile grew wider. "What?" I asked again, smiling with her.

"Hmm, nothing, just thinking about something." She smiled again, but I didn't. I just felt she was smiling because of something I did. Maybe because I freaked out earlier.

"Tell me what you're smiling about now or I won't speak to you ever again." I said with the best serious face I could make.

This time she started chuckling and I knew I didn't succeed to pull that off with her. "You should see your face when you are trying to be serious. You look like Mrs Gretta." She burst out with laughter immediately after she said that. Since I didn't find it funny, I didn't laugh with her.

"Very funny." I said sarcastically with a face. She reduced her laughter into a chuckle and stared straight into my eyes.

"How was your meeting with the handsome lecturer? Did he tell you if you failed or was it something else?"

As she mentioned that, I knew she was not really concerned about my grades but the juicy gossip that comes from being requested for by a handsome lecturer.

"Nothing." I answered simply. I watched her eyes turn into slits and I knew she was going to explode, but I really don't care. I need something to joke about, something to make me smile. Today had been to stressful for me.

"Cassy" She growled my name in frustration as she saw I wasn't going to answer her. She made her puppy face hoping it would turn me, only it didn't.

"Cassy please just tell me a little of what happened, please." She clasped her hand together and I knew what was coming next.

"Don't." I said while holding back a smile.

"Don't what?" She asked innocently.

"Don't even try begging with that puppy dog face, cos it won't work." I chuckled as I saw her trying to cover up. "And I'm not still telling you anything."

She stood up abruptly and picked her bag. She waved me and walked towards the door slowly hoping I would tell her to wait. Durh. Those strategy only worked for couples. She reached the door and turned the door knob.

"Okay fine. He asked me to go on a date with him." I blurted out causing her to turn back and stared at me with  wide eyes. She dropped her bag by the door and practically ran to me and sat on the couch beside me, eagerly waiting for the story. Gossip monger. I muttered under my breath.

"So....?" She drawled waiting for me to continue.

"Okay. I went into his office after my last class today" I related everything that happened to her until my mom's call, even how I freaked out about my grades. When I  was done I saw that she was laughing her hearts out though I don't find any of it funny.

"So what was your reply?" She said after quieting down.

"I told him no." I said simply. She stared at me in shock and I wondered if I said something wrong.

"You did what?" She asked, still shocked.

"I told him no." I replied her.

"Wow, why would you tell him no? Why would you refuse a date with Mr Anderson?"

Oh, she was actually shocked that I said no to Mr Anderson's request. "Were you expecting me to actually say yes?" I questioned her.

"Why wouldn't you say yes? He personally asked you out on a date. A date, Cassy, and you said no?" She said disbelieving.

I took in a deep breath and blew it out slowly. "Ana, did you ever think towards the fact that I might not be the only girl he's asked out? Besides, I'm with Drake and I can't cheat on him."

"He told you to see him in his office in the middle of the hallway while everyone was watching. And you think anyone would think otherwise? Fact is he doesn't even talk to students except in class. Think Cassy."

"Ana, first of all, relationship between students and lecturers are prohibited in the school. And second, I'm with Drake and I won't cheat on him." I said with finality in my voice and she knew better than to argue anymore.

"Okay." She raised up her hands in surrender. "It's your decision. But don't you forget, I'm always and forever will be here with you." She hugged me and I hugged her back.

"It's time to get you home young Lady." I said in a motherly voice. She stood up and saluted me. We started laughing as we made our way to the door.

We entered my car and I drove off towards her  house. I felt so complete in me as I maneuvered the car. I have my mom and a very wonderful friend/sister. I felt very complete and I knew I could take on any challenge with them beside me.
