"What time is it? I think I have to leave soon."Chanhee pushed Younghoon back down onto his back as he tried to sit up, placing a hand over his mouth. "Be quiet, Younghoon. Just don't speak," he said bluntly before pulling his hand away and connecting their lips once again.
Younghoon's hands found their way up to Chanhee's hips, his fingertips slipping under the material of the boy's t-shirt. He let Chanhee lead the kiss. Both of them were more comfortable that way.
A gasp slipped out of the elder as Chanhee bit down on his bottom lip. Taking his chance, Chanhee slipped his tongue into Younghoon's mouth, hoping he didn't hurt the boy too badly.
They made out on their couch in the living room for some time before Younghoon was finally able to pry Chanhee off of him. "I have to go to work can't we do this when I get home?" Asked Younghoon.
"You're not going to get home until like one in the morning—I'll be asleep." Chanhee lifted his head and glanced over at the stove in the kitchen, "you still have thirty...two minutes, you'll be fine."
"Chanhee," Younghoon pleaded as he dodged the younger's lips once again.
"What?"
"It makes me feel...dirty to do stuff with you before going to help sick people."
A dramatic huff came from Chanhee before he let himself fall on top of Younghoon, electing a puff of air as he hit the elder's stomach. "I really didn't think that in the future our relationship problems would be not being able to fit sex into our schedules."
"If you wake up when I get home at—"
"Younghoon it's not an option that I would be in a good mood after getting woken up."
Younghoon rolled his eyes. "I'm not hearing any other solutions," he muttered.
"My solution was right now but all you can think of right now is the old people you take care of."
There were a few moments of silence before Younghoon asked, "ok so when do you work tomorrow? Nine?"
"There is no fucking way we're working this around our schedule—this is supposed to be something that's at least remotely romantic."
"You can still kiss me before I have to leave...but you're just so touchy."
"Why? Are you going to get all worked up before you have to go in? Then you'll feel dirty?"
A long pause ensued while Younghoon only blinked at Chanhee. "If you'd like to know," he started at last, "that's exactly why."
"You are my favorite person in the whole world, Kim Younghoon," Chanhee mumbled, always amused by his boyfriend's view of the world.
There was a satisfied smile resting on Younghoon's lips. Chanhee made him so happy. In fact, everything about his life made him happy. He was dating Choi Chanhee, he was living with Choi Chanhee, and he loved his job...what more could he ask for?
Well...maybe there was one more thing Younghoon wanted. "Chanhee..." he started softly, "we should get a puppy."
Chanhee thought for a moment before answering, "I don't think we have enough time for a puppy. But god—that would be so much fun."
"Maybe you're right...you have to take a lot of time to train puppies and they have to go outside a lot."
"We could get a cat? You don't have to take them outside."
Younghoon quickly shook his head, "Cats are cute—but I don't want one."
"We'll get a puppy some day, Younghoon, I promise."
"When we're married and have our own house?"
"Keep dreaming, kid."
✨✨✨
Work would always be apart of life and Younghoon knew that. Whether it was school, or an occupation, or developing a relationship with somebody, there would always be something that required work.
The percentage of people that loved their jobs was slim—but Younghoon was still just excited to go to work as he was on his first day.
He worked on the third floor of the hospital and took care of patients coming out of surgery. Sure, not everybody was nice while staying in the hospital, but more common than not, Younghoon loved his patients.
Not only did he love the actual work aspect of his job, he loved his fellow nurses and all of the doctors he worked with.
"Younghoon—ah!"
Ha Sooyoung. She was of the most beautiful girls Younghoon had ever met and she was a good person too. Only a few months older than him, she was a nurse too.
They met in orientation, the two having an instant connection and surprisingly, they got stationed on the same floor together.
"Hi Sooyoungie," Younghoon responded softly, letting the girl link arms with him as they walked towards the hospital entrance.
"It was crazy last night, hoon, after you left two patients coded right in a row."
"In a row?"
"In a row. I was running back and forth from one room to another. Crazy."
"You should've called if you needed extra help for the night."
Sooyoung rolled her eyes, "You don't always have to be here, Younghoon—it's good that you can go home and spend time with your boy."
A small laugh slipped out of Younghoon before he repeated, "my boy."
"How is he? I still want to meet him, Y'know? I'll never stop asking you."
"I like to keep—"
"My life separate from work," Sooyoung finished, having heard the same argument from the younger countless times, "I'm not work—I'm a friend."
"We've never hung out outside of work."
"I see you almost everyday already, Younghoon."
Younghoon hummed and decided to answer her previous question, "he's doing good...I think it's just two more months until he's done with school."
"Because he wants to be...a teacher?" Sooyoung said hesitantly, not know if she was on the right track.
The elder nodded, "a math teacher. God he's so smart...do you know that's how we met?"
"Younghoon, I don't even know his name, of course I have no idea how you met."
"Well," Younghoon continued, "we went to high school together and we were in the same math class. I'm really bad at math and he's really good at math...so yeah he helped me in class then we fell in love."
"You make me sick."
A smile quickly rose to Younghoon's lips before he responded, "thank you, Sooyoung."
