District Columbia POV
Me: "Why?!...Why Enterprise?! You knew the consequences! Why would you do this?!"
Enterprise: "To save humanity. The SIRENS wished for peace but we declared war! You are preventing that pace from being achieved! End this! Join me and help me end this war!"
Me: "Only in death does my duty end! My duty is to the people! My duty is to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic! My duty is to defeat the SIRENS and preserve humanity! I would rather die than join the people who massacred my brothers and sister!"
Enterprise: "So be it."
Before I could dodge she fired her bow. It went straight into my chest and lodged itself in my cube before shattering itself and my cube. I kneeled and grabbed my chest. As the last pieces of life left me I uttered my last words.
Me: "I...loved...you.."
My vision turned dark but I could see a slimmer of her eye's color return before it disappeared. Slipping into eternal rest I released control of my body as it self destructed. Only in death does my duty end...and it seems my suffering has finally ended like the others.
