Although Cross did not regret dancing with his boss, he could definitely have done without the teasing. "Lucky." Dust said in a sing song voice as Horror wheezed through his teeth at the purple hue that coated Cross' cheeks.

Partly because of the teasing, and partly because everyone seemed to be aware of his (obvious) crush. Killer was blinking at their conversation, probably confused about what he missed and a little upset that he wasn't able to tease the most teasable monster in the world.

Cross glanced across the carriage to find his boss looking pained into the distance. Something must have been on his mind because Nightmare didn't sense Cross' staring. Cross looked at Killer when the smiling motherfucker called his name.

"Ey Crossy, am I seein' wha' I think I'm seein'?" Cross blinked a few times. The comment finally got through and his still prominent blush erupted another fold. The carriage came to a stop and the tapping of boss' cane became audible as he stepped outside.

Followed by his four subordinates they entered the all too familiar mansion. Dust and Horror were off toward their rooms and just as Killer was about to go to sleep as well, or whatever it was that he did in his room, the boss called for him:

"Killer." Killer nearly snapped his neck as he turned to look at Nightmare, "you stay away from my brother." Dead silence was all Cross could hear, why would the boss let him hear this conversation? Which was obviously, very, private.

The smile, that was adorning Killer's face just moments earlier, slowly but surely disappeared. The light pun Killer had made as a farewell weighed heavily in Cross' mind. A slight frown edged itself deeper and deeper onto Killer's face.

He turned around to fully face the boss and walked back over to him. Cross could feel himself start to sweat as Killer and Nightmare seemed to be in a dead silent staring match. "Y'know, tha's kinda unfair, boss." Killer finally spoke.

"You're tellin' me ta stay away from you're bro while Crossy over there can barely manage ta keep It in 'is pants." Cross' soul was pounding in his chest but he only granted Killer the satisfaction of seeing his eyes widen at the realization that he was just outed.

The boss didn't even turn to look Cross in the eye as he said: "Cross, my chamber, now." And just like that the boss was nowhere to be seen. Cross could only hear his polished shoes and cane accommodate his echo down the hallway.

Killer looked at him with the most shit eating grin.

"Oh, someone's in trouble." Killer looked at Cross before he too disappeared into the shadows. Well, Cross was well and fucked right now. Cross had come to the conclusion his boss was going to kill him, because he knew too much, as he entered the boss' chamber.

He was greeted with the sight of Nightmare pouring what seemed to be wine into two wine glasses. Cross couldn't shake the dejected look on his boss' face, haunting every phase his features went through. "Cross," he spoke softly, "we need to talk about-,"

Cross was still getting down from the high of the boss saying his name when he noticed the hesitance in his voice. Though he wanted to reassure his boss, he waited for him to continue. "What this is. I believe, we are both, extremely aware, of the implications, of our behaviour."

Cross blinked in confusion. "I'm not sure I understand, our?" He began as the boss motioned him to sit down and handed him one of the two wine glasses. When Cross' boss sat in the other chair across from him, he was reminded of the first time Nightmare had called Cross to his room.

"Cross," his boss' voice sounded breathy and even a little shaky if you paid as much attention to the title as Cross did. The awestruck underline caused Cross to witness a few, unprofessional, hazy images flashing through his mind.

"Are you, perhaps," Cross sensed a question coming but he could have never predicted that the simple strand of words caused him to inhale the rich wine that was gifted him. "In love, with me," An uncomfortable silence washed over them.
