Weakart was talking with his friend, Lucas, in the cafeteria. There was still a week until school would start and he was SO BORED! Lucas didn't have any other ideas either, which really annoyed Weakart. Couldn't school just start already? He was so ready to do things again!

"Any new things going on with you?" Weakart asked his friend.

"Nope." Lucas sighed. "My parents have been doing the same old things, although I did hear that their old friend, Winter, will be teaching here and his son will be in our Winglet. What do you think he's like?"

"From what I've heard about Winter, adventurous and speaking his mind like his on top of the world." Weakart growled.

"That's Icewings for ya." Lucas agreed.

"I have an idea!" Weakart gasped. "What if we went and tried to find that Icewing. Just to see what he's like!"

"Why not?" Lucas said.

The two got up and started to speed down the halls in search. Weakart had a pretty good idea of what to loom for in their suspect. An Icewing, snotty attitude, maybe talking about how good he is.

He eventually found his parents with Qibli, Moon, and... Winter. He would know where his own kid is. Right?

"Hey guys!" Weakart said, approaching.

"Weaky!" his mom, Kinkajou, said.

"And I still think that's a horrible nickname for our kid." his dad sighed. "How ya doing kiddo?"

"Good!" Weakart said. "Me and Lucas had a question for you guys."

"What's up" Moon asked.

"We heard that Winter had kid here and wanted to meet him!" Lucas explained. "Where might we find him? Oh, and hi Winter!"

"We'll my son should be finding his sleeping cave." Winter said. "I think he may be your clawmate, Weakart.

"Huh," Weakart replied. "We'll thanks!"

He and Lucas ran down the halls once again, trying to reach the cave. Weakart was a little shocked by Winter's helpfulness and lack of pride. Maybe his son wouldn't be a total snob like he was expecting.

Finally, the cave came into sight and they looked inside. On the right side of the cavern was a smaller Icewing who was turned back to them and reading some scrolls.

"He reads! That was unexpected..."

"What do we do?" he quietly asked his friend.

"I guess we introduce ourselves to him" Lucas said.

They walked into the room and the Icewing jumped as he heard their footsteps. Weakart was once again shocked by what he was seeing and hearing. How could this dragon be so unaware of his surrounding and so unworried of showing people his insecurities?

"Sorry, you guys scared me." he said. "Who are you?"

"We'll my names Weakart and this is Lucas."

"Weakart and Lucas." he repeated. "What kind of dragon names are those?"

"That's what I said!" Lucas laughed. "What's your name."

"Shard." he mumbled. "Did you need something from me. If so, it may be better to ask my father for that stuff. He's better at doing things for people, unlike me."

Weakart started to feel bad for the dragon in front of him. Shard didn't seem to be like other Icewings in Pyrrhia, and was more or less a shy guy who didn't seem to feel good about himself in any way, shape, or size.

"No, we wanted to meet you." Weakart assured. "Do you have any friends or some people you turn to?"

"Meh." Shard mumbled. "I have scrolls, but never have I really had a friend. Most people where I came from used to tease me for being such a lame dragon and even beat me up once or twice. My father was really the only one who cared for me."

"Well how about we be your first friends" Weakart suggested. "There isn't any reason for someone to be alone. We could introduce you to our other friends when they get here too."

"Except my sis." Lucas said. "She's kind of pushy."

"Agreed."

"You guys would really be my friends?" Shard asked.

"Why not." Weakart said. "You seem like a cool guy."

Shard laughed, making Weakart feel better. He'd made a new friend to start off the year and the future looked bright.

"This is going to be super!"

Shard, him, and Lucas flew down the halls back toward their parents, everyone feeling like new ones in this huge dragon world!
