I have never seen what a happy family looked like. The basic ingredient to a happy family was a man who was loved and had people to love. A mamma and a papà with their children, all living together in under one roof, doing things that involve all members. I've never seen it in real life until today.

This was the second time I was invited into the Lombardi estate, the first time I came here was a few weeks ago, at a dinner. I met everyone yet I still felt like there was more people to meet in this family.

When I speculated that Dante Lombardi seemed like he went through the trenches of life, it was almost impossible to rule it out because even in his own home, it seemed like he didn't want to be there. However, there was one thing that brought a lot of life back in him whenever he was in his home.

His wife, Adriana Lombardi.

Adriana is the wife of the mafia don of commune Di Milano, she goes by as the mafia queen, Dante's mafia queen. The foundation of this family. Though she had power, she was still a people's person. She was kind, her soft sense of being welcomed everyone like family into their estate.

I watch the two as they held hands, Dante would occasionally lift their intertwined hands and kiss the back of hers, which would make Adriana blush. Dante and Adriana were not just husband and wife, they were lovers. It was like as if she was his home, his security and definitely his pride. In the weeks I've spent time with Dante's family, I observed the interaction between Dante and his wife because it was something no one can avoid. I've never seen a love like theirs, if that's what love is, then I'd be damned. Dante was hypnotised every time she walked into the room, it was like as if he worshipped the ground she walked on. But when she isn't in his presence, he is dull again, like something more than Adriana is missing from his life. Though they've been married for more than twenty years, their affection towards each other never diminished.

It was great for Dante, to have this life because he and his wife managed to stimulate and create a family that can be extended for generations and generations. I've managed to meet Dante's youngest son, Cristian, his brother, Fabio and his son, Milo, as well as the rest of their cousins. The Lombardi's were a tight knitted family, a family that cared too much for each to never not have enough however, even with this many people under one roof and in one family, it still felt like they were reserving a place for someone. There was a missing seat at their dining table, it seemed unusual that everyone was avoiding that seat which was next to Dante. I thought it might be because Dante did not like having anyone by his side except for his wife.

I understand why papà was too fascinated with this family and I wished he would've introduced me this family before his death because if he was here right now, he would've told me to be subtle with my observation.

"What do you think of that?"

I inhale a deep breath and look away from the love birds, my attention was averted when I heard a voice penetrate my ear, one too similar to Dante's. There was a commotion on the estate grounds, I was at the Lombardi estate, for the fifth time this past month because Dante keeps inviting me back. First, I thought it was a bad idea but now that we're forming a relationship, I didn't think it was anymore. It was someone's birthday at the Lombardi estate, couldn't remember who and didn't give a shit. I've only attended to impress Dante because we were also going to speak about business once the party quietens down.

"Your parents?" I ask as I look at Mylon who took the seat besides me. He nods and drinks from his glass. I turn my head and return my gaze back to Adriana and Dante. "It's good." A light shrug lifts my shoulders, "Your father has support that he needs to maintain a family."
