Chapter 1

(Annabelle's POV)

I stood by the entrance of my school, a preppy all girl's school for the rich and stuck up, not that I’m rich or stuck up, but most of the girls here are. And they're bitchy and whiny enough to make my eye twitch and my hands itching to slap their plastic faces until half their faces concave from the impact. One thing's for sure, Saint Elizabeth's Private Academy for Girls is not for the weak of heart. Here, it's kill or be killed and since I’m not dead yet, that means I’ve been doing quite well to survive this hell hole.

“Hey, Lily, don't cry.” I heard Amber say soothingly to a distraught Lily.

Amber's a quiet girl with the body of an Amazon. She stood at five feet eight, taller than my five feet two inches with chocolate brown hair pulled back into a french braid that ended on her lower back. Her eyes are the reason for her name. They were of a beautiful amber, almond shaped with long, thick eyelashes that made her look exotic. With her bronze skin and strong features, she would seem intimidating, but she's actually a very nice person, if you get on her good side that is. Otherwise, she would pulverize you with her powerful right hook.

Lily on the other hand, is the opposite of Amber. Her hair's blond, strawberry long cut short enough to make her look like a pixie. She's thin, well looks thin for her five feet five inches. She has these big brown eyes that she uses as a weapon to get what she wants. Hell, she got out of getting suspended for punching a girl who 'accidentally' spilled cranberry juice all over her white blazer. Don't let her appearance deceive you because she can be as vicious as she wants to be, but she's a sweet girl when it comes to friends.

“But, I don't want Annabelle to leave us. She's our friend and leader. What's going to happen to the gang?” Lily cried, tears falling down her flushed cheeks.

Did I not mention I’m in a gang? Well it's not those street gangs that sell drugs and do drive bys, if that's what you're thinking. No, the gang I’m in is sort of like a group that keeps order in this school. Yeah I know, I sound like one of those cliche chick flicks where the popular girls band together and rule the school with an iron fist, forcing everyone to do our bidding. It's not. My gang and I keep the peace here, protecting those who are easy targets from those bitch queens of this school. If there was no one to defend those who can't fight, then all those who can't fight back will suffer enough damage to last them a life time. Trust me, I know.

I hate bullying as much as I hate liars, people who betray others, and cheaters. Those who cannot commit to their words, who show how strong they are by picking on the weak, who cannot keep their desires in their pants don't deserve to be let off scott free. If I could, I would beat them all to hell, but that's impossible. There's only so much I can do and so I have to make do with what I can. Besides, helping people always made something inside of me feel lighter, gave me the strength to keep on helping those that need help.

These whores have no idea what hard work is. Most of them had everything given to them on a silver platter. Sometimes I wish I could take that silver platter and smash it over their heads. Spoiled little princesses need to know that not everything revolves around them. And my gang has been showing them since.

Everyone in my gang is someone who won't stand for the mistreatment of those who are on scholarship here, who are not rich, who are what those bitches would call 'pretty', who they just don't like. People would think 'oh, these girls are so nice, elegant, and prestigious ladies who would do no harm.'
