an inevitable fate befalls you.
the day loops until you
eventually survive.
a sad existence you were.
and yet life decided your
suffering wasn't enough.
★*⋆ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯...
IT WAS A CLEAR AND SUNNY DAY, the sky was a vibrant shade of blue with white clouds scattered amongst it. The city streets were bustling as people walked from one place to another ; chattering and laughing in the crowds.
A certain teenager scrolled on their phone waiting for the pedestrian light to signal them to move. Today the teachers had announced that the students would be having a field trip. Where exactly? You know the drill, ODD WORLD.The permission slip needed to go had been placed into their bag, careful to not damage or wrinkle it.
The pedestrian light had started beeping, signalling that it was safe to start walking. ____ placed their phone into their pocket and started trudging. However, a large blunt object had hit them ending their life in a quick swing. It was a car, the object soon drove away, uncaring of the person they just hit.
____ awoke in a familiar void, the road underneath them had been replaced with a shallow pool of water stretching out into the infinite void. All color was drained leaving a bright room of white. They sat peacefully and wordlessly in the water, soon they laid down on it and closed their eyes as the water under them rose quickly. ____ had awoken just moments before they were hit, the pedestrian light beeped signaling that it was safe to start walking. This time though ____ decided to wait and soon the same car passed by uncaring if they had hit anyone, luckily they didn't.
It wasn't the first time ____ had died, only to awake in the same white void and placed moments before their death. ____ could remember their deaths incredibly well. It didn't help in the slightest and made them take extra precautions instead. They were pushed off a building three times and died, they got stabbed and died of blood loss once, and somehow they managed to die several times from poisonous gas which was a nightmare to get out of. There were many more times they died, however ____ didn't feel like mentioning all of them.
____ also managed to die at ODD WORLD once which is why they weren't so enthusiastic about it unlike the others. They were crushed in between the machines, they shuddered remembering the day like it was yesterday. Luckily, the pedestrian light started beeping, quickly putting ____ out of their thoughts. This time they got through unharmed and started strolling towards their house.

____ opened the door and closed it behind them, they looked around the familiar place they lived in. Taking off their shoes, they placed them onto the floor and headed upstairs. Their parents weren't home today, probably at work. ____ didn't mind this, however, it did get lonely at times. As soon as they reached their room they placed their bag on the floor and plopped onto the bed.
____ took their phone out of their pocket and opened the private chat with them and Skyla. Skyla, a close friend of theirs, texted them telling them how excited she was. ____ reminisced about the first time they met, they could never come up to someone and straight up ask to be their friend. However, that was exactly what Skyla did, she walked up to them and now they're friends.
