Night was quickly approaching, Heizou spent the majority of his day sleeping, reading and eating, but around an hour before he and his rival were to meet up, he decided to make something for the other and that would be one of his personal favorite meals, Katsudon. Simple for the detective really as he made it quite a lot, although having a long history of being a good having to cook for himself from a young age as his father could never be bothered, he was still nervous about how Scaramouche would react, would he hate it? would he love it? Heizous head began to hurt, He separated the Katsudon equally into two different containers, the bag he placed the containers in wasn't full at all, Heizou placed two pairs of chopsticks into one of the side pockets and a book into the main one. The book was about romance, he had begun to take an interest in romance novels recently.

Scaramouche himself was already finished packing a bag for the picnic, he knew the right spot to watch the fireworks and also made sure that the food he had made himself was carefully packaged and fresh. While walking out of his domain, he looked upon the sky with a hopeful look, this person he had just gained in life... was, something else. Such a calm feeling while around him, he didn't think about murder, nor did he wish to cease to exist, his mind was focused on the moment and not the future, not the past only the present. Perhaps that is what he liked most about his new companion.

Heizou arrived at the designated meet up they had said to meet at a day earlier, the sun was setting, a brilliant glow illuminated Scaramouches figure as he walked closer waving to say hello without using words to collect himself, he had been thinking about a very peculiar thing on the way to the picnic. "I was hoping to best you in this race to the spot detective." Scaramouche stated with playful sarcasm, Heizou chuckled lightly for a second before letting his resting faces gentle smile take over his seemingly perfect features that appeared on his face. Scaramouche admired how he could look so carefree but so serious at the same time, his own resting face looked like he was going to murder someone, Heizou picked up that's just how his face rested and left it alone. He had admiration towards Scaramouche about his face too, but he wouldn't say that aloud to him until he knew him better.

"Alright, so there is a festival tonight so I picked a place to watch it and have the picnic, now hurry up Heizou or we will miss a few fireworks." Scaramouche stated and started to walk off, he spoke with authority and Heizou thinks he was a born leader or made into one. Quickly realizing Scaramouche was already wandering off he ran to catch up with the other snickering to himself beside him. The spot that Scaramouche was talking about turned out to be where they first watched fireworks together. The sun was almost completely out of view with the residue being a red hue slowly de-indulging itself from within the black starry night sky.

It was a pleasant surprise to Heizou when he found out that the food he was eating was all made by Scaramouche, he wouldn't stop complimenting it and joked about how Scaramouche should be a chef. Heizous words were something Scaramouche was craving weather he knew it or not, he got validation from someone, his eyes scrunched up with a soft smile whenever Heizou said something nice about the dishes he prepared for the night. Heizou took notice and kept doing it, he wanted to see him smile genuinely as it seemed like he was just misunderstood, and people might only point out the bad stuff he had done.

Scaramouche toyed with each other until the fireworks started popping loudly in the distance, both turn their attention to the noise from across Inazuma. Heizous eyes lit up brightly with the fireworks creating a perfect replica of themselves in Heizous eyes, instead of watching the sky Scaramouche found himself indulged in  Heizous eyes anyways, that was before he remembered two days ago where Heizou had caught him staring and turned his attention back to the light show that was still going strong Infront of their eyes. By the end of the firework display Scaramouche was yet again staring at Heizou, even though the fireworks were no longer booming he became fascinated in the stars above, seeming so close yet so far away at the same time; at that moment did Scaramouche think about telling Heizou a little more about him, he didn't.

Scaramouche started to pack up his belongings and once done sat himself next to Heizou once again. "How long you going to stay out? you do have work tomorrow." Scaramouche mused, he heard a gentle hum from Heizou just before he softly spoke, it almost came out a whisper, "I'll stay out as long as you are, my friend." The 'My friend' part of Heizous speech shocked Scaramouche to the point you could just make it out on his face, it took a few seconds, but he re-gained himself and put on a smirk; "So what if I intend to stay out all night?" the sly intent was evident in his voice, but Heizou was willing to play around a little. "Well, I'd just sleep on your lap again." He chuckled to himself quietly before looking at the unamused face of Scaramouche sitting beside him, "And I'd roll you down the edge of this hill." the statement caused Heizou to break out into laughter as the Balladeer had a playful scowl on his face, resisting laughter.

Heizous laughter seized, and he packed his own things up too, the two of them however sat next to each other taking in the scene before them, while turning to see what the other would look like in the scene, their eyes met and held just a bit too long to be considered just friends but neither of them had successful friendships so they wouldn't know that at all. "I should get going Scara, I do have work tomorrow." Scaramouche nodded and offered a smile and a wave as a goodbye, as soon as Heizou had left Scaramouches vision his face exploded with heat and he placed his hands over his face covering the redness and cooling his face down with the coldness of his hands. "They wouldn't been so cold if we held hands." He mumbled into his hands trying to compose himself. He'll deal with how he feels at a later date, right now he needs to focus on getting back to his domain.

Heizou got back to his cottage absolutely exhausted, he wore his nighttime attire and fell onto his futon, while lying on his futon Scaramouche came to mind and how much he had learned about him in the past two days. Heat seemingly engulphed his face as he realized how much he had missed his friend, how attractive he was, how much of a great person he was excreta. Feeling lonely he held his own hand and suppressed a thought that wished it was Scaramouches.
