The next morning... (Saturday)

The bright morning sun peaked its way through the curtains. Albert was awoken by the sweet aroma of coffee and toast. He jolted out of bed and made his way to the kitchen. "What is all of this?" He asked, rubbing his tired eyes.

"Breakfast." Denis responded "there was barely any food in the fridge, so I decided to help myself to what you had." he flipped a sunny-side-up egg onto a plate and sat it on the table. Soon after two pieces of toast popped up from the toaster.

"You did have to do all this." Albert made his way over to the dining table where he was served a high-class meal. "I didn't just do it for you." He cut the egg allowing for the yoke to run free. Then he grabbed some toast and dunked it into the yellow liquid.

"You're a good cook," Albert mumbled with his mouth full of food. "Yeah yeah, don't spit crumbs all over." He walked over to the table with his plate of freshly prepared food. "You know Denis, you would make an amazing housewife," Albert said only half-jokingly.

"You think so?" He asked. "Yep, I do." Albert couldn't remember the last time he had a good homemade meal. Usually, when he cooks for himself it ends up not going as intended.

"So what are we doing today?" Denis asked, wanting to spend the remaining time had left wisely. "Uhm I didn't have anything planned out." He admitted, "do you have anything you wanted to do?" He thought for a minute but couldn't come up with anything they could do in a day.

Seeing as his flight left at noon tomorrow there wasn't much time. "How about we go down to the park?" Albert proposed, Denis thought that was a great idea. So after they cleaned up their mess they walked down to the small park near where Albert lived.

"It's hot out here," Denis complained, since he came from Canada where it's usually cold he wasn't used to the warmer weather of Florida. "Is it hot out here?" He asked, having experienced way hotter weather before he just couldn't feel it.

"We can go get an ice cream cone." Albert gestured towards the vibrant tuck that was blasting children's music out of a speaker. Some people were waiting in line, but not a whole lot. So they decided the best case of action would be to stop and get some.

After waiting in line for what felt like forever they finally reached the window. "What can I get you guys?" A girl with long brown hair and two pretty light pink bows on top of her head asked.

"I'll take a cookie and cream." Denis turned to Albert. "I'll have hmm... I'll have a chocolate chip." After receiving their ice creams, they sat down at a nearby bench. There were lots of people running around the park. Some flew kites, while others played in a small pond. It was a nice day out.

"Hey, Albert," Denis asked as he sucked on the delicious creamy treat. "Yeah, what's up?" Albert halted his licking of the cold cone so he could respond before going right back to it. "What would you do if I kissed you right now?"

Albert basically froze in place. His question caught him off guard. Denis didn't seem to be joking, he said it in a more serious tone than his usual joking voice. In his mind, he already had various ideas of what to say, but none of them seemed to be an appropriate response.

"Why-why do you ask?" Albert turned the question back around on him, whatever he said next would be either the start of a new beginning, or they would remain as friends who occasionally flirted with one another.

"Well, I'm only asking because your lips looked quite lonely." By this point, Albert couldn't tell whether Denis was teasing him or not. So he decided to play along just to see where this whole flirting thing went.

"If I said they were lonely, what would you do about it?" Albert locked eyes with the taller man, staring deeply into his hazel eyes. His eyes drifted away nervously and Albert got his answer.

"I was just joking around." Denis chuckled before he went back to focusing on his ice cream. Albert on the other hand was dying inside, not knowing what to do he just nodded his head in utter disappointment. "Yeah... Just joking around..." His sadness filled his voice as they sat in silence.
