(Y/n) growled as his father scolded him once again, telling him to be more responsible with his time management skills. He was only a few minutes late.

"Get off my back, I'm late because it started raining!"

"Normally, I wouldn't care so much. It just so happens that we have an important meeting to attend, and we need you to be here for Lucy. You know this."

(Y/n) crossed his arms, huffing in annoyance while his father continued to glare at him. Fortunately, there wasn't much time for this argument.

The moment his guardians had left, (Y/n) was alone with his seething thoughts... until a piercing wail reminded him that his half-sister was there too. He couldn't take it anymore.

(Y/n) practically broke the door to the nursery as he slammed it open, glaring down at the one-year-old. The loud bang of the door scared her, increasing her tears tenfold.

"Shut up and go to sleep! You don't deserve to be upset, you're the one ruining my life!"

He pointed an accusatory finger at the toldder, uncaring that she couldn't understand a word he was saying. Her (e/c) pools were overflowing with fear as she stared up at her big brother. (Y/n) didn't falter.

"What, you want a bedtime story? A Lullaby?"

There was nothing but hatred in his eyes, a cruel idea coming to mind. Fairytales and folklore told of multiple monsters who would eat little brats like her. Why not share one of those tales?

"Ok. Sure thing, little sis~"

His tone was taunting in nature, full of discreet loathing. (Y/n) leaned over her crib, delighting in how Lucy continued to cower away from him.

"Once upon a time, there lived a little boy. This boy lost his mother, and his father remarried to a horrible wretch of a woman."

(Y/n) gripped the side of the crib, fingers turning white at the pressure.

"A child came of that unholy union, a spoiled little brat. The poor boy was forced to take care of this child against his will, tending to her whenever his father demanded it. He wished for nothing more than his late mother to come back."

Lucy's wailing had died down by now, but her tears continued to flow. They soaked into the plain white sheets of her mattress while she motioned for (Y/n) to pick her up.

"Unbeknownst to the young boy, Marius, the king of goblins, had fallen hopelessly in love with him. On a night when that demon child was being particularly cruel, the boy wished for her to disappear. Marius, willing to give the whole world to his love, took the bratty child away."

A crack of thunder startled (Y/n), the booming sound causing Lucy to start wailing again. (Y/n) growled in annoyance, already sick of all the noise. He began to leave, feeling himself become angrier by the second.

"Stop crying! You don't get to cry, not when you always get everything you want!"

Of course, the crying just wouldn't stop. He wrenched the door open, allowing it to bang against the wall again, and turned the light off. The sounds of the storm mixed with Lucy's pitiful howls.

(Y/n) glared into the darkness of the nursery, imaging a world where the accursed room was nothing more than a playroom for him alone.

"I wish you were never born. I want you to disappear and never come back."

With those words spoken, (Y/n) closed the door and began walking to his room. The sound of breaking glass made him freeze. Lucy had stopped crying.

(Y/n) immediately went back into the nursery. He tried to flick the lights on, but it seemed the storm had taken the power out.

Even without the lights, it was easy to see that Lucy was gone. The moonlight spilling in from the shattered balcony door illuminated the empty crib in a pale glow. (Y/n) felt his stomach sink... what had he done?
