You fell asleep hard and didn't stir until Cavan gently shook you awake. The sound of people talking and instruments being tuned can be heard from the cabin's living room and it makes you wince as you sleepily recall the day's agenda.

"Five more minutes," you whine, slapping your head back down on the pillow.

Cavan chuckles as he pokes your arm with a mug of tea. "Rise and shine sunshine."

You groan as you take the mug and sit back up. You blink the sleep out of your eyes and get a better look at you fake finance. His dark flaming hair is slicked back and the ear piercing that's normally hidden under it is shining in the morning sun. He's wearing a well tailored suit shirt and a cravat that matches the mirror like effect of his spider half. "My mother apparently had made this earlier in the year hoping I'd be putting it to use after the 'have a family of your own' conversation."

"She out did herself," you smile lazily and sip your tea.

"You should see the jacket and the cufflinks and chain. Father really went out of his way to make sure he only used the highest quality stones and silver." He goes to grab the rest of his outfit and throws it all on.

You whistle and give him a very slow once over. "Very nice. You look handsome."

He taps a couple of his legs and slides his hand through his hair. "Thank you."

"So what's the damage?" You ask, gesturing to what's going on outside.

Cavan's eyes go wide as he sighs. "A small band, hors d'oeuvres, cake, plenty of wine, and my aunt."

You imagine that she's the one who helped him style his hair since his usual fashion is bed head. You've never really seen him cleaned up before and you have to admit he cleans up really well.

"Is she suspecting anything?" You ask him, not too sure if she's excited her nephew's getting hitched or is just as keen as Elli is.

He shakes his head and grabs his mug of tea, sipping a bit before downing most of it. "No, she's here to help us get ready. I told her what's going on in the sense of we're having to bump up the surprise engagement party thanks to your father's plans."

You set your mug down and feel the matted mess that is your hair. You couldn't imagine how bad you looked right now but you're too tired to care. "I think I could use all the help in the world right now."

"My aunt and I will have to suffice for now sunshine." Cavan kisses your forehead and cheek before leaving the room to fetch your bags. When he came back you realized he had an extra bag with him that you didn't recognize.

"Humor my aunt, I know Elli wanted you to wear the dress she packed but my family will be here too and they have pride in their wares." He slipped a gorgeous dress out of the bag that nearly matched his outfit to perfection. You gasp as he hands it to you and you're in total awe at how light it is.

"This must have taken her days... Months even," you stare a little longer before a knock at the door breaks you from admiring.

Cavan's aunt Cora peeks her head through the door and gives the both of you a big grin. "I just thought I should see if you needed me yet. Everything out here is running smoothly. A message just came in from the Maher estate saying that your family will be arriving shortly before noon."

"I guess I should start getting ready then," you smile at Cora and turn around to face Cavan with a stretched smile that pleads for help.

He laughs and invites his aunt in. She quickly gets to work on taking your measurements then shoos you away to go wash up while she spreads out her needles and thread on the tables. Cavan went upstairs to avoid the bustling and watch as his aunt fusses over you. He didn't stay long since several people kept knocking asking for last minute approvals on arrangements and music.
