After leaving Maisie and Jacob to have their bonding time, I had decided to check in with
my father about the rest of the expedition.
*Knock Knock

"Aye, come in." My father said with a tired voice.

As I stepped in, I was expecting a sort of glint in his eyes when meeting mine but, of course his eyes were as dull as ever. I cleared my throat.

"Morning father. I had a quick update of our voyage you might want to know. The upcoming island we will arrive soon at is known as-" Before I could finish my sentence his voice had barged in.

"Torchwall Kingdom. The next island will be Torchwall Kingdom. Jacob had told me first thing in the morning" My father said with a small laugh as he stared at the wood of the deck above us.

Slightly irritated by the comment I continued.

"Well isn't that a blessing" I sighed as I motioned toward the door. My father raised his eyebrow in confusion.

"Such a blessing to have someone on the crew who can do everything and also act as a better successor for you" I said under my breath as I slammed the door on my way out.

It was almost the end of dawn, so most of the crew started to awake from their slumber. The frustration from my father that hovered over me finally drifted away as I was met face to face with both my best friend and best drinking buddy.

"Morning y/n. How's navigation working out for you?" Sarah said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Honestly for me, navigation had never been too difficult. That was until Holland over there just screwed it up for me. He thinks I can't achieve my own bloody tasks!" I exclaimed.

Sarah released a large sigh as she closed her eyes to think.

"You know y/n, maybe he just really cares a lot about you, that he's willing to do anything to take any weight off your shoulder.. Am I wrong?" Sarah whispered with a small grin.

Ashamed of the heat rising around my face, I covered my eyes with my cold hands and faced the ocean to exclude anyone from seeing my flustered state.

I took a deep breath.

"Even if it is because of that reason, why can't he just trust me to do things on my own?"

Sarah tilted her head thinking, "Didn't I just tell her the reason why? It was honestly quite obvious".

"Well, let's just say Jacob will always be Jacob. There to help those in need." Sarah exclaimed as she walked over to Father's cabin.

I shrugged my shoulders as I headed toward the middle of the deck. I noticed a young sailor struggling with a couple barrels so I had decided to help him out.

We were thankfully down to one last barrel. Exchanging tired smiles to each other we both lifted the barrel together. Oddly the barrel seemed lighter than the others we carried. I couldn't help but notice a pair of dark brown buckled boots between the young sailor and I. Rolling my eyes, the young sailor and I let go of the barrel to meet eyes with the man himself.

"Both of ya are too slow at this. Next time, just call me for help alright?" He winked as he carried the barrel to the corner of the deck. I stuck my tongue out at him as his back was turned away. The young sailor quietly laughed at my actions. I waved my hand to the sailor signaling that I would be on my way, so with that I walked over to where Jacob was positioning the barrels.

As my footsteps approached the man who was struggling tying the rope around the barrels, he quickly turned around to meet my gaze.

"Well look who it is" he said with a comforting smile.

Hesitantly, I slowly walked towards him, sat down beside him and leaned my head back on the wall. Noticing my discomfort, he set the rope down and scooted closer to my still body. Keeping one leg up to rest his arm on top.

"You doing okay, love?" He said with worry in his eyes.

I gently pulled my head forward and stared into his dark orbs.

"Look, I need to tell you something, Jacob." I quietly said. The sweat dripped slowly down the sides of my face.

"I think I'm starting to fall for-" before I could finish my sentence, a loud cry from above the sails reached our ears.

"Avast ye lubbers! There is a person overboard!" The commander yelled.

Jacob and I hurried toward the edge of the ship to find the person the commander was talking about. I quickly noticed a small boat dancing in the waves. The currents were getting higher as we neared the small boat. That was until the fog had finally lifted, did we notice the many rocks that blocked our path straight. Jacob and I exchanged looks to signal to each other what was to be executed. We shook hands and took off. I grabbed the nearest rope and helped Jacob tie it around his waist. Then gathering the rest of the crew, we all held onto the rope when we tied the other end to the mast. Jacob prepared to jump into the water and save the person who was inside the boat. I watched in worry as the waves slowly tumbled upon him.

Jacob's P.O.V
I fastly paced towards the boat as the waves pushed me deeper into the dark depths of the ocean. Of course I ended my mind set of killing sea beasts, but it will always be an instinct to defend the ones I care for and both myself. I'll be ready if I get attacked. I finally gained a grip onto the edge of the rocking boat. Yet the waves just kept tumbling upon me. As I was slowly losing my grip, I felt soft hands pull me up onto the boat. Spitting out the water that almost drowned out my life I met eyes with a blonde frail woman. Placing her hand on my face to check if I was conscious, she said,

"Sir! Are you alright?"

I squinted my eyes to get a better view of the girl. Beautiful sight alright, but not as charming as y/n for sure.

I cleared my throat.

"So, where do you come from?"

She glanced nervously out to the ocean. Her eyes connected with mine again.

"Torchwall Kingdom" she said lowly.

"Perfect! We was just on our way there. Care to have us assist you?" I said offering my hand.

She carefully grabbed my hand as I held her close to me.

I signaled y/n to pull me in.

With that, the crew pulled the two of us onto the ship.

Everyone rushed over and circled me as the mystery woman laid her head against my arm.
Captain Crow emerged from the crowd and stood in front of the woman.

"The name's Captain Crow. Welcome aboard. I assume you's been heading the same direction as me crew." the captain laughed.

The woman squeezed my arm nervously but soon after gained the confidence to speak up.

"The name is Blair. It's a pleasure to meet you all" she said shyly.

"I am forever grateful for your crew. Especially you." She said as she stared deeply into my eyes.

Y/N's POV

I couldn't help but notice that the person that Jacob saved was a beautiful woman. Everyone on the crew was captivated by her beauty. Hell, even I almost fell in love with her! Suddenly I felt my heart drop. I lightly hit my chest to get rid of the weird feeling. It wasn't till then did I realize, my heart dropped to the sight of the woman clinging closely to Jacob.

"Knock it off y/n! This is absolutely ridiculous, he just saved her. It's not like he's getting engaged her... HELL- why am I even upset if he ends up getting married to someone else??" I silently argued to myself.
