(To no response, the bird flied away.)

"Hey check out t-this hot dude!" A voice chimed, a phone shoved onto anothers turtles face who only groaned in response.

There sat an annoyed soft shell turtle with a fake, prospectic shell covering his real one. Wonder when was the last time the shell was taken off...

"Leo, stop moving...." The voice was thick with tiredness. Leo humming in response as he shut off his phone and sat on the ground with a bored expression.

"This sucks." Is all Leo said as Donnie took off Leos battle shell.

"Its only a cleaning, and to check on your physical shell. Its priority and has-"

"Yeah yeah I know. Has t-to be done and yata yata..." Leo interrupted Donnie, whose brow cocked and his eye twitched in annoyance.

Due to Leos mood swings, he gotten even more prickier. Or was that just how Leo always was and Donnie just noticed how much it bothers him more now that he hasn't really slept well?

Donnie couldn't really sleep so well in some time. He spends his hours away building, rebuilding, thinking on what to build- and reorganizing. Doing all these things to ignore the one factor all the brothers try to forget.

Donnie gets jealous of Leo- its probably bad. But he couldn't help it. Sometimes he wished he had brain injurys to- that lead him to forgetting. To block out all the terrible things that haunted them in the past. He would gladly take that for exchange of waking up to nightmares and then forgetting those nightmares to. At least he'd get some sleep.

But at the same time, he started to find it pointless. Sleep and emotion wise. What was the point of things that only made things worst? Donnie couldn't even enjoy a simple cleaning of battle shells without getting irritated again.

"Now go," Donnie planted Leos battle shell back on.

Donnie use to like doing this. He enjoyed washing his shells until it was all squeaky clean. It made him feel like he outstand each crowd. He was so proud with each instrument and tool and whatever he made- any single compliments given to him made him even more happy.

"Wow!" Leo shot up and twirled around, staring at the mirror as he stared at his blue shell that was covered with Mikeys stickers- which now to shined from the new coating and wash.

"You are a-awesome at your w-work Donnie!" Leo got even more excited- his voice shaking and stuttering even more with his emotions.

But at last, Don didn't feel a thing. He hummed in response, turning his chair and using his foot to scoot it back to his work desk. Not a single thing sparked a light in Donnie- not a smile, not a proud smug. Not even crossing his arms followed with a 'I know.'

Or some sort of sly remark. All the brothers are given is a short response. A dry one at best. They were use to it- they expected it when he was building. But now; why it felt so weird for the brothers. It was now an everyday thing. Mikey worried most about Donnie to.

Leo looked at Donnie in concern, a gaze Donnie is so familiar with- so envious for. He dreads the single gaze with a burning passion. Jealous for what? Jealous that the fact that someone cares for him? Jealous that someone could hold the emotions he can't even imagine?
