Steve was looking out the window of his office at Hawkins middle school. He was the PE teacher here. He used to walk these corridors as a student not that long ago, or ok it was 6 years ago he graduated high school, so it's been 10 years since he was in this part of school. Fuck it was a long time ago! Now he was walking them as a teacher, not nearly as fun. It's coming up on spring break, the one time a year Steve used to love. He'd go to parties all week long with his friends, now he had no friends left here. They've all up and left, one by one. The last one to go was Dustin, he's off to get his degree in engineering at Columbia in New York. That was last fall, and Steve's been pretty much alone since. I mean he has his colleagues but what the hell, he's not going to hang out with the teachers he once had in school himself. He hasn't even had a date in 4 months. He keeps staring out the window at the pouring rain outside, wishing he could be literally ANYWHERE but here. His daydreaming is interrupted by the phone ringing

"Hawkins Middle School, this is Steve"

"Steeeeevie my love"

"Hey Robin, did you have this feeling I thought about not having any friends?" he smiles in to the phone

"Steve, c'mon you have friends! Wouldn't hurt for you to pick up the phone either, might make some of us think you don't like us anymore"

"Some of us? Meaning you Robin?"

"And Nancy... Oh c'mon Steve, you're not even a little curious as to why I'm calling you in the middle of your workday?"

"Fine, I'll take the bait. What's happened Rob?" Steve sighs, the drama with this girl some times

"I... drum roll please... have been offered the manager position at work"

"That's great Robin, really that's awesome! But...seems like something you could have called about tonight?" he's is suspicious now, what else is it she wants

"Ok...ok... Me and Nancy had this idea right, we want you to come here for spring break? We want one of those amazing Hawkins bashes, but neither of us have the possibility to leave right now. And...well since school's out for a bit now we thought you might grace us with your awesomnes?"

"My awesomnes, thanks Rob. Well... I was thinking I'd like to be anywhere but here for a bit. You sure having me over won't be a problem for you then? I mean with work and stuff? I think I'd like to stay the week if I'm finally leaving this hellhole"

"Of course you're staying the week dingus! Between me, Nancy, Dustin and Jonathan you'll never be alone. Please Stevie it would be SO much fun" he can hear her bouncing with excitement

"Fine, I'll book a ticket right away. When do you want me there? I'm off from Thursday until well Sunday the following week" he says looking at his calender

"So... then you'll be here Friday won't you" he hears how happy this seems to make his best friend and he smiles

"Be there Friday, I'll call you with the details tonight. Thanks for thinking of me Robin, been a lonely 8 months without anyone around"

"I'm so sorry to hear that Steve, but now that work's easing up I might be able to come home to visit once in a while. Less hours but more pay, I mean golden deal right there" Robins smile is apparent even through the phone and he can't help but laugh

"Can you get me a job there to? Sounds like a sweet deal"

"Hey, are you sure you're management material then Harrington? I could pull some strings you know" he knows his friends wants him to join them, wants him to move to New York, but he's not sure. He's never even left Indiana before in his life. This trip to New York will be his first out of state trip ever...sad but true. Rich boy Steve Harrington hasn't been anywhere in his life, his parents on the other hand has been all over the world. Never wanting to take him with them though, they always seemed to leave for one place or the other while school was in full swing making it impossible for Steve to join them.
