I KNEW YOU WOULD
I knew you would talk to me again
as if we're normal friends;
as if you're talking to the old me.
You said you know me so well-
I knew you wouldn't let me be.I'm not a pawn on your checkered table,
you can't play me anymore; it's been painful.
From now on, see me as a formidable opponent,
I'll bring your fort down with a single pebble-
I knew you would provoke me with full intent.I knew you would do this,
you never let me say anything
because you talk about things I don't know.
Not sure if you notice how this affects me-
I knew you wouldn't see my sorrow.Dialogues happily fly here and there,
dust bunnies roll when I breathe a letter,
it's like being muzzled by my human.
In my home, I feel like I'm a mere bystander-
I knew you would mock me in a colloquy disguised rant.
