My head hurts as I finally come to. Slowly, I peel open my eyes to find that I'm still in my car. Glancing out of the window, I see trees whizz pass as we drive down a desolate dirt road.
I look to my left and see the same guy who kidnapped me sitting in the drivers seat with a very serious look on his face. It's almost like he feels my eyes on me as he glances over at me before saying "You're awake." I can't help but notice he sounds a bit relieved.
"W-what do you want with me," I ask, my heart pounding rapidly in my chest.
The man sighs. "It's a long story."
"Please tell me," I whisper.
"You won't believe me," he replies sadly.
I try another question. "Where are we going?"
"Home," he mumbles, distracted.
My eyes widen. "You don't know where I live... do you?"
"No, I'm talking about my home."
I gulp. "Are you going to... rape me?"
His eyebrows shoot up in shock. "No, god, no! You're my sister for god's sake!"
"What?" I ask, incredibly confused. "I don't have any siblings."
He curses under his breath, clearly unhappy that he let that 'info' slip. "Yes, you do."
"My parents would have told me if I did. Plus, my mother can't have anymore children, it's a miracle I even survived."
The man's hands tighten around the steering wheel until his knuckles turn white. "I told you that you wouldn't believe me."
I sigh, folding my arms over my chest and leaning back into the warm leather seat. At least this crazy, demented guy sees me as his sister, so he won't rape and kill me. Hopefully. "What's your name?" I ask him, curious.
"Asher Callahan," he tells me.
It worries me that he gives me his full name, without hesitation. Doesn't he know that when he lets me go, I'll tell the cops his name and it'll be easier for them to arrest him? Unless... he doesn't plan on letting me go.
An uncomfortable silence fills the air and I stare out of the window at the forest around us. I have no idea where we are or where we are going and it really freaks me out. I notice that my camera is no longer around my neck, and I freak out for a moment, until I see it resting in the back seat. With a sigh, I resort back to looking at the surrounding as Asher drives quickly down the road.
Finally I spot a break in the tree in front of us. I squint my eyes, leaning forward in my seat slightly, trying to figure out what it is. There are a lot of buildings, homes actually, and it looks like a village.
The homes are all two to three stories tall and look really inviting. They're placed sporadically, some out in the open while others are hidden in the surrounding forest. In the center of the incredibly large clearing, far away from all of the homes, is a big building, probably at least ten stories tall.
It looks to me like it's just passed dinnertime, as the sun is just about to start setting, so not many people are outside. But, the few that are stare at the car as we drive passed. Several minutes later my car finally comes to a stop in front of a really nice house, the nicest one I've seen so far.
Asher gets out of the car before walking around to my side and opening the door. Hesitantly, I unbuckle my seatbelt and then shakily get out.
Asher gives me a look that just screams 'no funny business' and starts to walk towards the house. But, I stay rooted in my place, heart pounding in my chest. Does he really expect me to follow some crazy kidnapper into a random house?
