Mae Showers Bring Lillians

Authors note: this is were the the "conflict" starts to arise, of course one conflict is the fact that she is trapped in this strange world, but a new one is arising.

It was the day of the birthday party. Anatak was really excited, Ten was trying to calm her down. Kayla figured she might as well tag along, it wouldn't be the worst idea.

On the way to the party Ten X stopped to pick up Pops and Mother but was saddened before she could go in. A type of flower called Lillians were outside the door, two of them. Ten explained that if Lillians are near a area, someone died there. They grow rather quickly, almost as quickly as they die. Nevertheless the group continued there way to the party.

The room were the party took place was huge and full. Fire creatures were talking to ice creatures, and angels were laughing at demon jokes. Polar opposites got along which would've never happened on earth.

"That is Katana! She is the strongest thing here, she serves as a guard for our village." Anatak said pointing to a large woman with white hair. She was a little bit creepy.

Everyone was enjoying the party, although it was a bit chaotic. People were enjoying cake in one corner, and right beside them a fight started that no one seemed to care about. They're witches who are making potions, and laughter from the unknown. The dance floor didn't have everybody but you could tell just by looking at it who was a party animal, and even a book-club. No one seemed to be on the same page, they just wanted to have fun.

Katana got into a tense stance which made everyone in the room stop, and the music was turned off. Katana turned around a pointed to the exit, and everyone was rushing toward it.

"What is happening?" Kayla asked while being dragged out of the room. It almost felt like she was floating because of the crowd trying to leave.

"I don't know! But if Katana tells us to leave then we have to go!" Someone yelled to respond to Kayla. Kayla had a quick glance at them, a boy who wore mostly white and pink, who also had his eyes closed.

Once everyone was out of the room things seemed to cool off. The only one left in the building was Katana. Everyone was hushing eachother and trying to comfort one another. It was real sweet, a close community sticking together.

Katana came out of the building covered in a blue liquid, which made a lot of people cover their eyes. Katana explained that a larger city called "Talipantowa" declared war on the smaller village.

"That's terrible" someone screamed. "Why would they do that? We don't bother them!"

"I'm not sure. The first act they did was kill Mother and Pops" Katana said, a coldness in her tone. When she said that everyone gasped. Mother and Pops founded the village, killing them was a act of hatred.

Everyone went home to mourn the death of Pops and Mother, but also to get ready. Kayla was now part of this village so she was gonna have to help fight in the war.

"Those no good, skinny little.... I'm so angry I can't even think of a insult!" Anatak was yelling.

"You were never good at insults dear, but we know what you mean. They are mind-contolled hypercrites who have no diversity, they are all the same! And no one can make a name for themselves there! That's why a few of them ended up here!" Ten X said clearly angry.

"That's right, I agree that everyone is equal, but they take it too far. No one can have their own opinions or be different in anyway. That's why its so easy to stereotype them, versus someone who came from our village." Anatak said as she threw some meat on the stove.

"I've been to that village before, the Minister had issues with his computer. The whole place is just shades of gray, a sea of soulless creatures. It was sad. Not a single creature had any life to them. I also read the rules, on the top of it was not emotion. How is anyone supposed to make a difference if they can't show emotion? Can't notice something is wrong with society if you are not allowed to show emotion and express how you feel." Ten X said. Anatak and Ten had a strong hatred, and a lot of knowledge about this city.

"The only reason the population is so high, is because the second a girl turned 14 she is expected to start having babies. She is expected to have at least 12 kids before she turns 25. That's insane!" Anatak said flipping the meat.

"How is someone expected to take care of 12 kids? I can only take care of my 2!" Kayla said bewildered.

"I'm not sure, that's just what's expected of them" Anatak said looking really sad. "It's terrible, if a woman is unable to have 12 kids before the age of 25 she is publicly executed."

"That's terrible!" Kayla whispered.

"I know. Our village is small. We are weaker then all of the city's on Mae, if we are also considered the most free, which might make us grow bigger. That's why we need Katana to protect us. If not we could fall, and have nowhere else to go" Ten spoke up after a moment of silence.

What's happening to the village is sad. How many Lillians will grow here? Kayla silently wondered to herself. Who would win? What would happen if the village lost? If we won, would I ever be able to go home? Would I go home if we lost? Who knows.

That night Kayla went to sleep on her thoughts, she knew that a type of training would start tomarrow, what she is training is unknown, but it'd be suited for war.
