We see a silver 2016 Ford Mustang driving down the highway. In the car passenger seat seventeen year old Y/n L/n. He had H/c H/l hair, E/c eyes, and wore a black shirt with blue jeans and a pair of red shoes. And the one that was driving was Brian L/n, Y/n's uncle. He had black hair, blue eyes, a blue jacket, a white shirt, and black pants and shoes.
The two of them were currently on their way to a town Crystal Cove. Though, it was obvious that Y/n really wasn't to happy about it. After all, it was the third time in nearly two years that they had moved. And at this point, Y/n was certain that this was going to keep happening more often than not. After a bit of silence, Y/n finally had enough and turned to his uncle for answers.
Y/n: Uncle Brian, why do we always have to move? Why can't we just stay one place without moving out eight months later?
Brian L/n: Y/n, I know that you're not happy about all the moving. But my job requires me to move to different places sometimes. And sometimes we just can't help where we end up being sent.
Y/n only let out a sigh of frustration at his uncle's response. Sometimes Y/n just wanted to try and convince his uncle to quit his job as a travel agent. You see, Brian worked for a massive travel agency with office around the country. And over the years, Brian had gotten several promotions. Each one needing him at a new agency in different states.
First it was Nevada, then Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, and Oregon. And now they were on their way to a town that was here in California. Y/n hadn't really heard of the town they're heading too, but his uncle claimed it was a nice place. Though it did make Y/n wonder how his uncle thought it would be nice. The only thing Y/n knew was his uncle was going to be heading his own travel agency there.
After a couple more hours of driving, they reached their destination. And as soon as they got to the town entrance, they took notice of the sign. It read: Welcome to Crystal Cove, the most haunted place on earth. Y/n thought that the sign was a bit confusing and had several questions. One being how this town could be the most haunted place on earth. Another being how it could be haunted to begin with.
Y/n: Crystal Cove?
Brian L/n: I know that it's a bit of an odd name, but I'm sure it's a nice town regardless.
With that, the two rode into town to find the house where they're going to be living. Though Y/n knew that he shouldn't get to comfortable with living in the odd town. Due to the fact he had a strong feeling that they would be gone sometime soon. After twenty more minutes of driving, Y/n and Brian were in a quiet suburban neighborhood. And they pulled into the driveway of a two story house.
It looked a bit old, as it seemed no one had lived there for a few years. But it still looked like the place was pretty much intact. Y/n remembered that his uncle mentioned the old owners had apparently moved out a year prior. After Brian unlocked the door, the two took a look inside. The place seemed to be spacious enough for a decent sized family. It had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a pretty good sized kitchen and living room.
Brian L/n: Ok, the moving van should be here in a couple hours. Why don't you take the chance to go out and take a look around town?
Y/n: Why? I doubt it'll be long before we end up moving again.
Brian L/n: C'mon Y/n, where's your sense of adventure? Who knows what this town could have to offer. Plus it would be good for you to get out and not spend every waking moment with your nose in a book.
Y/n let out a sigh since he knew he couldn't really argue with his uncle there. He usually spent most of his time reading all sorts of books based off science or engineering. So he agreed to go and take a look around town to try and pass the time. For the hour and a half, Y/n had been walking around town to at least try to enjoy being in Crystal Cove. But he knew that he wasn't going to be living in town for more than a few months at least.
As he was walking, Y/n saw a few small parks, several mansions, and other people walking around. Though one house did seem to slightly peak Y/n's interest. It looked like a basic two story house with a chimney, a fence for some backyard privacy, and a hedge. For an odd reason, Y/n felt this odd itch in the back of his head. It only lasted a couple seconds, but Y/n couldn't understand why this house was important.
Y/n started walking down the street before bumping into someone. He had slightly been taken by surprise since he wasn't expecting to, quite literally, run into anyone. Then Y/n took notice of several books on the ground and the other person picking them up. After a few seconds, he started helping the girl pick up her books.
Y/n: Sorry about that, wasn't paying attention to what was in front of me.
???: No, no, it's fine. I wasn't really paying much attention either.
After picking up the books, Y/n gave them back to the person. That's when Y/n finally got a good look at who he had run into. It was a girl who looked sixteen, maybe seventeen years old. And she had brown hair, glasses, an orange turtle neck shirt and socks, and red shoes and a red skirt. After a moment of silence, the girl decided to speak up.
???: Are you new here? I don't think I've ever seen you around here before.
Y/n: Yeah, I just moved in with my uncle at some old house that's said to have been available for about a year now.
???: The old Harrison house?
Y/n: Yeah, I'm Y/n L/n by the way.
Velma: Velma Dinkley, a pleasure.
Y/n was about to say something before his phone went off. So he looked to see it was a message from his uncle, asking to come back. Apparently, the moving truck just arrived and they needed to start unpacking. Of course, it seemed like fate was out to get him right now. But Y/n knew he shouldn't keep his uncle waiting. Because Y/n not only had his own stuff to unpack, but his uncle would keep texting until he replied.
Y/n: Sorry, but I have to go now. Moving truck just got to my new 'house' and I need to start unpacking.
Velma: Well, I guess I'll see you around sometime.
Y/n: Probably.
With that, Y/n tarted making his way back to the house. He did take a look back to see Velma go into the house he was looking at. So he at least figured he knew where she lived if he wanted to drop by. When that thought crossed his mind, Y/n felt confused for a moment. Why would he want to pay a visit to a person he just met? Before he could think about it for to long, his phone went off again.
Of course, it was his uncle asking if he was on the way. Y/n sighed as he sent a reply back, promising that he'd be there shortly. With that, Y/n made his way back to the house he and his uncle were at earlier. Once he was there, Y/n and his uncle spent the next few hours unpacking. After a while, they ordered a pizza to eat and finished whatever unpacking was left. Once they were all said and done, everything they had was unpacked and set up.
Brian L/n: Alright, that's everything.
Y/n: If we're done, I'm going to go and get some sleep.
Brian L/n: Good idea, the next few days are going to be busy. So make sure you get plenty of rest, and try to have some fun while we're in Crystal Cove too.
Y/n didn't really say anything as he made his way upstairs. Once hr got to his room, he didn't even bother changing as he laid on my bed. But his mind was racing with thoughts about this town, what he'd do, and that Velma girl. Y/n had no idea why she popped into his head again like that. But he didn't care since all hr wanted to do right now was get some sleep while he could. Though Y/n doubted that there would be anything interesting to happen in Crystal Cove.
Little did Y/n know that things were going to take a crazy change.
