Last Christmas- Wham!

Forty-seven days till the wedding. Forty-seven days till Christmas, and I've never dreaded anything more. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon for my two best friends finally getting married, it's the season I hate.

All the snow, and the bad songs, corny cards, and don't even get me started on the sappy shit about love. I mean come on, snowflakes fall out the sky and all of a sudden, it's "magical." Yeah, right.

Christmas is all bullshit, and nothing will change my mind.

"Holly! I got our coffees, where did everyone go?" I hand my bride-to-be best friend the six drinks and look around for our friends.

"They went to get our luggage." I nod, noticing she's staring at me.

"What?"

She looks me up and down, "how are you feeling?" I scrunch my eyebrows together and look at her.

"Why?" she sighs and swirls her coffee cup around.

"Well, you know, Christmas..." she looks up, "it's almost been a year..."

"Oh, I'm over all that now." I hold back a gag. "You know I grew from it. I'm just ready for this wedding and giving my best friend the best happily ever after."

"Awh, corny." We both smile and I hear chattering behind us.

"Auggie, go talk to that girl right there." Frankie points to an unsuspecting blondie talking to an older woman.

"Ew, no!" Auggie pushes Frankie away and Teddy cackles, "I'm not a pedophile like you. why don't you talk to her?" Frankie shrugs and walks over to her, easily slipping into her conversation.

August and Teddy walk up to us, and we hand them their coffees, we chat and make fun of Frankie's player activities.

"I don't know why you guys are so mean, at least I get bitches..unlike other people." he widens his eyes and points at me.

"Oh, shut up! I get plenty bitches." I smack him and he laughs.

"Guys, Charlie said he just found his bags and that He's on his way to us, then we'll go straight to the resort." Holly reads us the text and we see Charlie in the distance, pulling along 3 extra suitcases.

🤍🤍🤍

"Holy shit! This place is magical." I roll my eyes at Teddy, dragging my suitcase along with the group as we check into the hotel.

"Just because it's decorated nicely doesn't mean shit."

"You need so much Christmas spirit it's insane."

"She's literally the grinch." August pipes in.

"Shut up."

"She's on the naughty list." Frankie whispers to august and they cackle.

"Give her a break guys." Charlie says.

After Holly and Charlie check us in, we all head to the elevators. Luckily, the entire bridal party is on the same floor, and the same hallway.

"By the way... some of you might be sharing rooms due to how many people are coming."

"Really-" Frankie grins.

"Most likely with the same gender, so keep it in your pants, Frankie." Holly interrupts him and stops at the first door in the hallway. "Oh, and Stella," I look up, "Charlies best man is coming later today, so you guys can help each other plan shit with the wedding." I nod. "This is me and Charlies room until the Week-Of, so... you guys can find your own rooms, okay?" She grabs Charlie's hand and pulls him in the room, slamming the door.

We all stand there for a moment, hearing giggling and shushes behind the suite doors.

"I think it's safe to say I'm gonna be an aunt soon." Teddy comments. We all turn and continue walking down the hallway, making fun of the couple and the bridal shower.

Just my luck, my room is the last one in the hallway, so I drop august, Frankie, and teddy off, walking down the warmly lit hallway alone.

When I reach my room, I immediately take a shower, unpack my things and find a casual red slip dress. I pair it with black tights and a black sweater over. I dry my hair and wrap my hair up in a low bun.

I get downstairs and ask the receptionists where the shower is held. They point me to a large hallway, and I walk over, my present in hand.

🤍🤍🤍

The next few hours consist of meeting Hollys extended family, meeting Charlies family, socializing with old friends, and really, making the whole thing run smoothly.

"Okay everyone! We're gonna do one last game and then we'll open the lovely presents everyone has gotten for our bride. If you have any other gifts now's your last chance to bring them up to the table." I announce to the guests, and Teddy begins the next game. Holly and Charlie sit at the front of the room side by side, the biggest smiles on their faces as they look at their family and friends.

I smile, turning to the presents and organizing them so it's easier to grab them. I hear laughter and cheers behind me.

"Sorry I'm late." I voice behind me says to the couple. I freeze in my spot as another present is set down on my pile. I turn my head to peak behind me, seeing a pair of red Jordans walking away.

"Just glad you could come, man." Charlie says.

"Oh my gosh! You look so grown up!" Holly giggles. "Did it get any colder out? last time I checked it was almost 20." I slowly get up, steadying myself on the gifts before turning around.

I see the back only man I've ever loved hugging our best friends, greeting all of them. I gulp, noticing Holly, Charlie, Teddy, Frankie, and August stop and stare at me. I didn't know he was fucking coming.

He slowly turns around, confused as to what they're looking at. We make eye contact, and my stomach drops.

His eyes widen, and I hold on to the presents for dear life since I'm pretty sure my legs have gone numb.

Frankie clears his throat and August elbows him in the gut.

"Hey, Jasper! Teddy can give you the paper for the game if you wanna join in late..." Charlie trails off when he notices our eye contact.

"Long time no see."
