CHAPTER 12: ARROW

SAKURA'S POV

Shit!

I shouted in my mind because of Yena's sudden attack, fortunately, I could move my sword to deflect it.

Our swords hit each other, making both of us fly away, I stab my sword to the ground to keep my stance and not fall. To enhance my sword skills, I agreed to have a few combat training with Yena, I know she's good at this kind of fight but it still surprised me to see her fight like this.

"Wait!"

I was about to attack Yena when she suddenly raised her left arm and unsummoned her sword. She walks towards the huge tree and sits at its huge roots, her sudden actions made me confused and a little bit worried

"I think we should take a rest"

I unsummoned my weapon and walked towards her, showing her wide grin

"Why? Tired already?"

I said, mocking her for her sudden actions, however, she just showed me a simple smile, a smile that Yena rarely showed, it is filled with grief and sadness

"You seem bothered, What's the matter?"

I asked but instead of answering Yena just sigh deeply

"Is it about what Minju said earlier?"

I again asked I notice her expression change when I mention this, for the first time I saw her vulnerable, her pain and sorrow. I remember how Yena lost her wide smile when Minju talked about her last moments with her parents, and as far as I know, Minju was the last person brother Al is with before he disappeared that night at the war, many thought he had already died that night, that he is one of the enchanters that is buried alive when one of the towers of Oneiric Castle collapse, however when the tower is restored after the war, they couldn't find brother's Al body.

"Do you think he's still alive?"

I again asked looking at her, watching her expressions,

"I don't think he is, unnie"

She briefly answered then take a deep sigh for the nth time

"Yena, what if he is st-"

"No, he's not Unnie!"

I was surprised when Yena suddenly raised her voice, she stood up and looked at me, I saw the pain that she is still trying to hide

"I'm sorry, Unnie"

I heard her whisper making me smile

"He's dead because- if he's still alive, why he didn't come back?"

She slowly sits back again and closes her eyes

"If he's still alive, why he didn't keep his promise?"

I didn't even dare to answer her question, all I could do is to pat her shoulder and try to comfort her as I saw the tears that she's been trying to hide fall. She immediately wipes it and looked at me with a smile on her face

"Thanks for comforting me, Unnie- and don't ever tell this to others especially Hyewon, or else-"

"Or else what?"

"- I'll kill you next training"

she said as she pouts her lips, I smirk at her and shrugged my shoulder

"Anyway, I think I need to go, the other girls already mentioned my name fifty times, They seem having a great time talking about me"

She said before disappearing right in front of me. I looked at the sky and it was slowly getting dark, so I decided to go back to my room to rest, but before I could walk, I suddenly felt something strange behind my back. I can't help but frown as s I looked around. I fixed my eyes on the left side of the dark forest as I felt like someone is in there.
