Chapter 5

Leslie and Michelle really hit it off, much to the annoyance of Jay, Matt and Kelly who kept glancing at their mate who was talking to Gabby and Leslie a bit away from their table.

"This is our chance to get to know Michelle and Shay is totally ruining it" Jay complained making Matt agree with him looking towards Kelly expectantly as Shay was his best friend. "Shay and I got in a bit of an argument this morning and this is her payback" Kelly admitted, making Jay and Matt groan. "Apologize" Matt stated making Kelly look at them sheepishly and say "that won't help" "why not?" Jay asked annoyed, making Kelly sigh before saying "I ate the last of the cheesecake Cindy made for Shay even though I knew she was saving it for during the shift. Even if I apologize she'll still do this until I get her a new cake." "Herrmann" Casey said, making said firefighter look at him "can you please ask Cindy to make a new cheesecake for Shay? Otherwise we'll never get our mate back" "on it luitenant" "now go apologize to Shay and tell her Cindy is making a new cheesecake so she'll stop sabotaging us" Casey ordered Severide making said man stand up and walk towards the girls.

"Having fun here?" Kelly asked the three laughing girls, wrapping his arm around Michelle's waist making the girl unconsciously lean into the man. "Bye Kelly" Shay immediately said, making Kelly say "come on, I'm sorry. Cindy is going to make a new cheesecake alright?" Michelle looked at the two questionably asking with a laugh what had happened. "He ate my last piece. The piece I was saving for today" Shay answered, making Kelly immediately reply with "I said I was sorry. Cindy will make a new one" "but I left a note in the fridge saying it was mine" "well I was tired when I came home last night, alright?" Kelly rebutted making Michelle feel a pang in her chest stepping away from Kelly's arm before asking the two "wait, are the two of you together?"

"What? No no no princess we're not together I'm only y-" Kelly started before Shay quickly interrupted him to avoid him saying he was Michelle's cause that would definitely freak the girl out "I'm gay. We're just roommates" which for some reason made Michelle feel a lot better. "Wait, are you dating Izzy?" "I am, why?" "Izzy's my best friend! She told me so much about you, I had a hunch when you said your name was Leslie and you worked on the ambo. It's really great to finally put a face with the name!" "Oh my god, you're Michelle! Wait, shouldn't you be really hungover?" Leslie asked making Michelle look at her and laugh before saying "I should be. Izzy really wanted to celebrate that promotion but for some reason when I came here my headache was completely gone". This made Leslie smile at Kelly as it was a sign of their bond. Having your mate close by could take away physical discomfort. "You should come with us next time" Michelle added, making Leslie accept her offer before the alarm went off alerting Gabby and Leslie that they had to get to work again. "I have to go but we'll schedule something through Izzy" "definitely. Good luck!" Michelle said, letting the girls run off towards the ambulance.

"Okay everyone! Time to go to the 21st district" coach called out, making Michelle turn towards Kelly and say "give me a minute so you can have your shirt back" "it's fine darling, keep it. It looks better on you anyhow." "Are you sure?" "Absolutely." "Well then, thank you. And thank you for helping me on the roof earlier" "of course. I'll always help you" Kelly said, giving Michelle a charming smile that made her swoon.

"Kelly!" Jay called, making Michelle and Kelly both turn towards him. "I need two more guys because Dawson and Olinsky are out for the day. Matt's in. You free as well?" "Yeah, sure" Kelly said, thanking Jay via their mind link and telling Michelle that it seemed he was joining them, making the girl smile at him before saying "well then, lead the way" she said, making him offer her his arm before escorting her out of the common room.

"You driving with me?" Jay asked the three, making Michelle look towards where Archie and his friends were walking towards her. "Aunt M can I please please please drive?" Archie practically begged, making Michelle look at him before saying "sure. Just don't crash my car. And park where you're allowed to park." making Archie look at her sheepishly as he received a couple of tickets for parking in a no park zone. "You're also coming with us, right?" He then asked, making Michelle answer that she'll catch a ride with Jay, Matt and Kelly making Archie nod to himself before telling her he'll see her at the precinct.

The ride towards the 21st was filled with Michelle getting to know the guys and vice versa. If it was possible Jay would've taken the long way but seeing as he was the one that had to guide the group they couldn't be too late. Parking in front of the 21st, Jay stopped the car before rushing towards Michelle's door to open it for her. "My lady" he said offering his hand, making the girl giggle softly before replying "well thank you kind sir" soliciting a wink from Jay that made her feel things. Wrapping an arm around her waist, Jay guided Michelle through the doors towards desk sergeant Trudy Platt who would have the badges they would need for access. Leaving her there in the capable hands of Matt and Kelly, Jay softly kissed her temple before going towards the front of the group. As soon as he realized what he did he froze until he saw the slight blush on Michelle's face making him smirk and wink at her again when he caught her eye. This made her blush even more, attracting the attention of the two firefighters who decided not to say anything to avoid embarrassing her. That didn't stop Matt from throwing his arm around her shoulder or Kelly from wrapping his arm around her waist.
