Chapter 7

It seemed like they had a couple things to get together so I went and made myself some popcorn and grabbed a couple other snacks and drinks and made a recliner so I could kick back and watch the villagers get what they deserve. Luckily I didn't need to wait long before they started their plan, they waited until nighttime and snuck into the village the first thing they did was steal all of the books that mentioned the apples, the tree, or themselves. Once they returned to the tree Dream told Nightmare to pick two of the Negative apples while Dream would pick two of the Positive apples. I leaned closer to the screen to get a better look as I was curious about what they would do with the apples, then before I could react they both started eating the apples they had picked. I freaked out and started checking the codes and was getting ready to go there to try and do damage control as I had seen in my past life what happens when they eat them, however, when I looked at the codes I saw that something different from what I know was happening I could also feel that both sides of the Balance of Feelings were still equal.

Upon seeing this I looked back at DreamTale and noticed that neither brother was going crazy over the influx of power and that was when I realized why, By both of them eating the same amount of apples at the same time they were able to keep the Balance protected and because the balance wasn't out of wack neither of them became corrupted or obsessive. When I looked back at the brothers I saw that the apples had finished transforming them. Dream looked the same except he was wearing golden armor and had a pair of brilliant golden wings coming from his back and had his bow-staff combo in his hand. Nightmare was wearing black armor and looked very different from how I knew him in my past life, he still had the tentacles coming from his back however it seemed that tentacles were fusing together into wings, and I bet they could separate back out into tentacles again as needed, Nightmare also had a staff that had a crescent moon emblem on the top, he also wasn't covered in black goop.

While the brothers were looking over their new forms and figuring out how the changes affected both their physical bodies and their magic, I took this time to calm down from the near panic attack I had over what they did. Once I was calm and the brothers had stopped experimenting they moved on to the next part of their plan.

They turned into the forms that they had before eating the apples and went to the center and rang the bell that was there so they could wake up the villagers and get them to meet them. Once the villagers woke up and got to the town square the leader of the village walked up to the brothers "What is going on here Dream why have you called this meeting in the middle of the night" he looked pointedly at Dream while ignoring Nightmare's existence entirely.

Dream squared his shoulders and looked the village leader directly in the eyes "I and my brother Nightmare have been extremely generous to let you stay here in our forest however after certain things were discovered about your motives for coming here as well as your actions towards both of us we have decided to give you a choice"

"The choice is this: you can leave this valley peacefully and never return or we can make you leave with force" Nightmare stepped up next to Dream as he said this.

Once I heard Nightmare say this I sat up properly and pulled up the code for DreamTale off to the side. I can't mess with the code too much but if the villagers try anything then there are a few things that I will be able to do. Once the code was pulled up I looked back at the window, the villagers seem to still be processing what the brothers told them. The village leader's eyes had gone wide and his mouth was slightly open in shock, several of the other villagers had similar expressions, however, some especially the children had slightly fearful looks to them as they looked at the Guardians of Feelings. I could understand why, even though the brothers had not turned into their powered-up forms they still exuded power.

After a few moments, the village leader shook himself out of his shock and barely hidden anger appeared on his face. His brows drew together slightly, and his lips turned down in a slight frown. "Dream what are you talking about? Whatever it is you say you've found, I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding, we can talk about this." the village leader quickly pasted a smile on his face as he said this trying to manipulate the brothers one more time.

The brothers shot each other a glance before Dream spoke again. "There is nothing to talk about. All of you have until the sun comes over the horizon to be on your way out of this valley or we will remove you by force. This is your only warning."

Dream stood tall as he finished speaking and both brothers summoned their staff making them look more threatening. The villagers were in shock once again, the village leader had wide eyes and was looking at the others, lost as to what to do.

Nightmare stepped forward drawing the villager's attention to him. Immediately the villager's faces twisted in looks of disgust, barely concealed rage, and fear, Nightmare was not even using his negativity aura on them they just hate what he represents. Once everyone was looking at him he issued a warning "We will be standing guard at the tree if any of you come near it for any reason then we will assume you are trying to steal the apples or attack us and we will respond with deadly force. This is your only warning."

Once Nightmare finished speaking both brothers turned around and walked back toward the tree leaving the villagers in shock over what had just happened, and to prepare themselves should the villager attack them or ignore their warnings. I prepared as well, I pre-wrote different lines of code for different situations all that was left was to sit and wait for the villager's decision.

AUTHORS NOTE

Ok, I know it's been a hot minute since I've done anything with my fics so first things first, none of my fics have been abandoned. I got extremely busy with college work so I had no time or motivation to work on fics however now that I am on a break until August I will be attempting to stick to an upload schedule. The schedule will be this: every Sunday or Monday I will upload a chapter of one of my fics, I will work on one fic a week and something will update on those days. I don't have a set order I will work on them made yet, however. So there will now be regular-ish updates. See you all on the next adventure.
