The Royal Journey (Rewritten)

Chapter 2

After making some basic preparations like tidiyng up the kitchen and locking the house , the 'Ketchum Family' set out for their trip to Prof. Oak's lab. The people of Pallet town were surprised to see not only Red and Ash back in town but also the entire family together. Many of the people there greeted the family to which each of them replied in their own way. Delia having tears of happiness in her eyes , Diantha cheerfully meeting everyone , Red with his confident attitude and caring nature while Ash , although was behaving like he always does, was still thinking just what else does his dad has in store for him. The entire day Ash has got surprises which he always hoped for but never knew could actually happen. Things were going too good , which worried him. This isn't how Ash usually acts but for him family matters have a lot of priorities.

Walking and talking among themselves as well as with others who approached them , the 'Ketchum Family' arrived at Prof. Oak's lab. Here, they were greeted by not only Prof. Oak but also the entire family of Gary as well including Gary's mom Leaf and Gary's dad Blue , everyone except Gary who looked like 'someone who just saw a ghost'.

"Hey everyone, didn't knew you guys are here as well."

"Yo Ash, aren't you as cheerful as ever my boy and my god just look at Diantha, the last I saw her she was a kid, just look at her now."

"Oh come on uncle, I haven't grown that much , I'll always remain a kid for you guys. It feels embarrassing to hear that I am the eldest sibling here."

"Aww dear, don't worry about such small things, you'll get the hang of it eventually. Knowing Ash, he'll always make sure you won't forget this fact, regardless if you want him to or not."

"Hehe, you know me aunt."

"Speaking of you, when was the last time you visited our house. Taking in account the already less visits you make at Kanto, you have barely visited us since you started your journey."

"That's because when I come here, Gary isn't usually present in Kanto and the fact that you visit my house whenever I come back, we catch up on everything there, don't we ?"

"So you mean that you'll only come here whenever Gary is present ? Am I too old to play with you ? You do know that you can still come to eat and play with Gary's stuff right but you still don't. Aunt is sad *sniff* *sob*."

"No No No, I didn't meant it that way. Uhh how should I explain, just don't get sad for now, please ? Ahh this is so embarrassing."

The crowd started to laugh looking at Ash's situation. Ash being Ash didn't realised that Leaf was just teasing him while the rest understood it instantly. As Diantha started to laugh more and more, Ash after giving it a little thought realised what just happened started to feel embarrassed. Laughingly Delia said :

"Now now Leaf, don't tease the kid anymore."

As all of this was going on Red and Blue were catching up among themselves and eventually Prof. Oak also joined the conversation.

"So Red, the reason why you asked to gather everyone here, is it because its time for the children to know everything?"

"Yeah , although Dia already know most of it and I also told about it to Ash, its time for Gary and the reveal of rest of the secrets as well."

"I see, so the day is finally here. I was looking forward to this day for a long time now, don't mess up."

"Don't worry gramps, if something happens you are here afterall."

While everything was going on Ash noticed that Gary is quiet this whole time which is out of character for him. So curiously Ash approached Gary and started to enquire.
