"Mevin, Mevin!" Kathy exclaimed as she hurriedly took off her shoes.

Mevin slurped his coffee and placed on the dining table.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I made a big profit today." Kathy said after sitting down.

"Oh, that's great." Mevin said, sipping his drink.

"Not only that but the customer invited us to his restaurant."

"Wait, wait, Uncle Rome? But we visit him all the time so why...?"

"No, no, no, the owner from James Folis' Fine Dining."

Mevin coughed for a bit and gave her a strange look.

"...Did you know him beforehand? Why did he invite you out of the blue?"

"I guess he was just trying to be nice. Either that or he was just really happy because he got engaged."

Mevin shook his head, "I'm not going. I have to tend to the farm."

"You can tend to it another day but this can't wait." Kathy crossed her arms.

"I don't think you should go too, Kathy. What if you get kidnapped, raped, assaulted-"

"Don't worry so much. I will be fine because we're going together." Kathy said, holding Mevin's hand.

Mevin looked at her for a while. Then, he shook his head and sighed.

"You can go by yourself." Mevin muttered.

Mevin could feel the disappointment as Kathy stared at him. She nodded and slowly walked to the bedroom. Mevin glanced at her and frowned. He has to continue working hard to support the both of them and if they want to have a child together. Kathy may have made a huge profit today but that will only cover the bills they had to pay. When Mevin was younger, he would manage the bills since he was the only in his family who could read and do math. This made him relatively worry more about finances later in life.

Later in the evening, Kathy wored her favourite yellow dress and hat. Before she went out, she kissed Mevin on the cheek. Mevin was sleeping soundly on the bed. Kathy understood that farming is tiring work and that Mevin had to sleep much earlier in order to tend to all of the many, many crops planted. Sometimes some of the crops harvested turn out bad and cannot be sold which puts a damper on their finances. A few months ago it was winter season. The income he made in that season really set them back further away from having stable finances. Kathy assumed that it was bevause of that Mevin started to tend to the farm more often. That was why she wanted Mevin to go out with her. She wanted to ease her husband's worries.

Soon,  Kathy arrived at the restaurant. She catched up on her breathing before entering the fancy restaurant. The whole restaurant was brimming with customers laughing and smiling joyfully. The place was cleaner than the outside with glistening floors so shiny that anyone could see their reflections on them. Multiple cloth tables are served with a high quality leathered menu and free ice water.
