Chapter 1 - Breaking in to Hydra

Early one morning Tony Stark grabs his morning coffee to join the other Avengers as they await him in the conference room to get the information about their next mission. The room feels tense as they know this will be a Hydra related mission but some of the Avengers won't be present as they're currently away on another so this could be a tough assignment.

A few moments go by and Tony briefs the team who are Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, and Thor Odinson about the latest HYDRA facility. They are attempting to recreate a new batch of Super soldier serums since they lost their Winter Soldier a short while ago. This causes a cold shiver to go through Steve as guilt comes flooding back to him knowing how his best friend was hurting for years and years and he didn't put an end to it sooner.

"So, this is the new facility, right?" Steve asks as he sees a photo in the file he was handed.

Tony replies with "Yes, that's where they're producing the new batch of serums"

Natasha notices how uneasy this mission makes Steve knowing how bad he feels about the whole situation with Bucky.

"Everyone needs to be ready in 5, so suit up guys" Tony instructs the team before he walks away to get ready for the mission himself.

Later, as the team get to the Hydra facility, they are approached by guards who they must fight off as they attempt to enter the building. Tony has J.A.R.V.I.S hacking into the barrier that surrounds the building which stopped him flying close to the building as he flew into it.

"I'm going in" Tony informs the team as the shields are finally down which he enters the building from the rear side of the facility and is greeted by a handful of guards.

The Avengers have all mostly split up to try to enter the building in various areas to find the serums that are being produced. As Tony has flown in, he managed to get there much sooner than the others. Steve quickly followed him between using his motorcycle and due to his super soldier speed, he got there quickly and entered the front of the building.

"Guys, there's a girl here!" Steve tells the other through comms.

"Steve now's not the time to find a date, plus I already told you about the dates I have lined up for you with the girl from accounting" Natasha replied.

Steve rolled his eyes as his walks closer to the noise of a girl screaming.

"Nat, I'm serious! There's a girl screaming for help, I'm going in."

"Steve, wait for back-up it could be a trap!" Natasha replies.

He ignores Natasha but continues to follow the screams for help. As Steve gets closer and closer Tony is notified of an incoming threat which he warns the team of to exit the building as soon as possible. Steve again ignores this information as he's determined to find the girl screaming for help.

"CAP! WE HAVE INCOMING GET OUT OF THERE!" Tony shouts at him over comms and within seconds the Avengers see parts of the building explore right in front of their eyes.

Minutes go by, the team stand still as the world goes quiet there's no word from Steve. Thor turns to look at Natasha whose eyes start to sparkle as she holds back the tears when the team don't hear a response from Steve, Thor holds her hand to reassure her.

Suddenly, "Guys? Guys come in!"

Natasha along with the rest of the crew breathe a sigh of relief as they hear the great Captain America aka Steve Rogers finally get through to them.

"Steve, where are you? Are you okay?" Tony responds.

"I'm fine! I'm up on the 5th floor, there's a girl needing help and I'm not leaving her!" Steve approaches the room where he can hear the girl cry for help and breaks down the door. As he enters the room, he finds a distressed young woman in her early twenties tied down to a metal bed. When she turns to see Steve, he notices that she has been sedated and has clearly only just begun to come around however due to the explosions she was hurt and has started to lose a lot of blood which causes her drowsiness.

"You're safe, I'm going to get you out of here – what's your name?" Steve asks as he begins to undo the belts holding her down to the bed.

"I'm – I'm [Your Name – Y/N]. Y/N [Your Last Name – Y/L/N]." she replies weakly but thankful that someone is helping her.

Steve determined to get her out of the building as quickly as possible replies with "It's nice to meet you Y/N, I'm Steve Rogers."

They make their way back to the Quinjet where the team are waiting for them, Y/N passed out in Steve's arms on the way, he carried her onto the jet where Bruce is waiting for them to provide her medical attention. Tony navigates the jet back to base where Bruce can provide the proper care and treatment Y/N requires.
