Scarlett POV

"Reece give it back." I yell at him trying to get the remote back.
"No. I don't want to watch some baby show. You need to get ready for your orchestra rehearsals anyway." He retorted.

I checked the time which was 3:15. Man, he was right. I went upstairs and put on winter tights with a maroon romper over it and put black fuzzy socks with doc boots over them. I grabbed my violin case and brought it downstairs and got my coat on.

"Did you remember your sheet music for once?" Nathan asked me.
"It's in my violin case." I told him while walking out to the truck.

I went to go get in the front seat until Nate stopped me.
"Nuh uh, you are still too little to sit up front Scarlett."
"Bubba, I am nearly 5' feet tall." I argue
"You are 4 '10, which isn't 5 feet, so sit in the back." He opened the back door for me. I got in but I may or may have not been pouting.
"Stop pouting. You know I aint trying to be mean to you. I'm looking out for your safety." He scolded and I just looked out the window while he connected his phone to the aux.

We arrived at the school so I got my violin and went inside.
I went inside and was greeted by my teacher and I greeted her back before going to my seat and getting situated since I was a couple minutes earlier than everyone else.
I started to read over the parts of each song I struggled with so I wouldn't embarrass myself during practice when everyone was around.

Twenty minutes later all 90 students were there so we could finally get started. We ran through the song Carol of The Bells which wasn't one of my favorite songs since the soprano part went so fast. We are also doing this for choir, and I think it is more fun even though I still find it hard.

"Percussion, we are still messing up measure seventeen through twenty. I understand it is a hard section, but we have to get it down before our concert saturday."
Our director isn't that strict until about the week of, and that is where she starts freaking out. It's understandable though.

Two and a half long hours later, practice was over and I started getting my things together preparing to leave
"Scarlett Monroe, can you come here please?" The director, Mrs.Ledger asked.
"Yes ma'am?" I asked while before walking towards her next to her piano
"You are very advanced for your age group, especially for the violin. With that being said, I would like you to think about competing in the classical orchestra competition. You would compete at the regional competitions around here and then move your way up to states, and maybe even nationals. I don't want to put a lot of pressure on you, but I do think you have the talent to make it far in these competitions, and I think it would help you grow not only as a musician, but as a person dear." Mrs.Ledger explained.
"I'll talk to Nathan about it. I'm sure he will let me." I said.
"I can have a meeting with him discussing the cost and the signing up process since you're doing this as an individual not representing the company."
"Okay thats fine. I have to go now, I'm sure my brothers are waiting on me."
"Oh goodbye Scarlett."

In The Car

"Bubba, mrs.Ledger said she wants to have a meeting with you about me going to competitions for violin."
"Competitions huh? Yeah I will talk to her about it. It will probably be a good opportunity for you!' He said driving out of the parking lot.
"Do you think I'm good enough to win though?" I asked.
"I think you're very talented and determined in your passions. Even if you don't win, you could meet many people with the same interests that you have. Plus it is good to compete in things early on so once you get to high school, you may be able to access scholarships." He assured me.
"I've never played by myself in front of people though. I have always been with a group." I said looking out the window.
"It's never too late to start love. You don't think Reece and I were scared to start new sports in highschool when everyone else had been playing for years?" He asked.
"No, not really, You guys seemed like naturals." I said.
"We had only ever played street hockey or we played football with our friends. We had to learn how to ice skate to play hockey, and we had to start working out a lot more than we already did for both football and hockey. We had to work twice as hard as the other guys on our team, but we caught on and Reece and I even became better than most of the guys on both teams, don't tell any of them I said that though." Nathan explained making me laugh at the last bit.

We pulled into the driveway and I got out of the truck going into the house.
"BOO" Reece shouted jumping out from behind the couch as soon as I sat down causing me to jump up and scream.
"REECE, YOU IDIOT." I yelled and that was when Nathan walked in the living room.
"Calm  down Lettie, he's only messing around." Nate reassured me.
"Messing around by almost giving me a heart attack." I argued.
"You should have seen your face though. Priceless." Reece said, still laughing..
"It isn't funny." I yelled.
"Yeah well I didn't think you would fall which made it funnier if you ask me. I recorded all of this thank god." Reece said.

I ran up to my stairs and slammed the door. I hated Reece and his stupid shenanigans and Nathan always taking his side. I don't even really care about his actions, I am just tired of always being the target because I am the youngest and the only girl. I got my journal out and started writing about my parents. I wish they had time for us. All they care about now is their stupid business. They really started putting their business over their kids when I was born. They didn't want a third child at all, much less a daughter. They might come over for the holidays and what not. My mother is obsessed with looking like a picture perfect family on social media so that's fun.
I was in the middle of journaling before someone interuppted me by knocking on my door.
"Come in." I yelled then Nathan walked in. Of course its him and not Reece. Reece always just walks in.
"Hey tater tot, why are you so upset. You know Reece was just messing around."
"I know that, but I don't like always being the one being messed with. You nor him know what that is like."
"Actually I used to pick on Reece all of the time up until like middle school because I was a lot bigger than him. He eventually caught up to me so now you are the target, But just because we pick on you doesn't mean we don't love you. You know that. We will be your biggest supporters no matter what you do. I promise." Nate Reassured.
"Maybe you, but not Reece." I argued.
"That isn't true. He just shows love a little differently. If you were ever in danger, he would break every law to save you if he had to." He explained.
"He would go to jail." I said.
"He wouldn't care as long as you were safe." He said
