"you're late." scaramouche exclaims as you jog up to him with a gentle smile. he huffs and starts walking, and you just match your pace with his.
"for like, a minute."
"still late." he insists.
"if you say so."
the two of you walk under the cloudy day, the wind feeling pretty chilly during the late afternoon.
"does nahida live nearby?" you ask, in which he replies to with a curt nod.
"mm. the daycare nearby."
"oh, a daycare?" your voice exclaims with a surprised tone; kunikuzushi expected this much. "where are her parents? i thought we were going to pick her up from her actual house,"
"no, she's an orphan." he quietly says. "i take her home sometimes because no one can always look after her there, and she doesn't have anywhere else to go to."
"oh," you simply say, too shocked to even comment anything.
