A had never ridden in a car before, the experience was thriving. Countless tress flew past me as the limo flew through the horizon.
As I tried to block out the driver's useless advise, I watched the trees. Occasionally, I would play with the lace of the dress I wore. When passing stores I would see photos of royals wearing such things. I never thought I would ever wear anything like this. I figured when I got to the castle I would be soaked in jewelry. I still wasn't sure if I felt comfortable with that. I touched my ears, I didn't want them punctured.
I looked out the window again and stared at the grass. I never lived in a rural area, or visited. The city never had trees and grasses so green. I soaked in the color.
"We're here!" The driver exclaimed.
I wasn't as excited.
Before the driver could get around the car and open the door for me I got out. He seemed disappointed, but I could care less.
Before I could get a good glimpse of my surrounding, a guard lead me into the grand doors.
"Welcome!" He said gently as he left me in the hall. Other girls were there. My competitors.
Several seemed very serious, others excited, and I few worried. But they waited, impatiently.
"You must be that seven," A voice pitched from behind me. She had a deep voice but looked sweet. Luxurious blonde hair and emerald eyes.
"Yeah," I replied uncertainly she had bad social skills.
"Your confused, aren't you? I can tell. Everyone else has a distinct emotion. Your not unemotional, your just uncertain. Your not sure whether to like this or not. To be thankful or angry. To like me or not."
"Want to be a therapist? Your going to have to work on your social skills."
"Don't worry I don't find you a threat. You and me, we're good. Unless, of course, you don't want to be."
The girl eyed me carefully. She is weird.
"My name's Scarlett," I finally said.
The girl smiled, "I'm Ruby."
Then she walked away. Wow. Friendly much.
I sighed and stood in a corner. Standing was getting pretty annoying and I wondered when we'd be done with this.
