"Could I please have your attention?" The king asked coming around the corner.
We all straightened ourselves and smiled thrived with the opportunity. Then hesitating we bowed.
"I'm very excited," The king continued, "to have so
many lovely girls at the palace this evening. Sadly in a couple of day ten of you will be back at home. In mean time, we should become familiar with each other. My son, Matthew, will be getting to speak with you all shortly. Please make yourself comfortable."The king gave a short smile and left. A large grand door then opened and a large room with comfy chairs placed perfectly.
I sat for fifteen minutes in silence. Then he came in. Prince Matthew. We all bowed.
"Hello ladies, I'll be speaking to you today individually," he said with a smile.
I watched as he spoke with the other girls making them laugh and I sat in impatience. How long can he take?
"Scarlett, right?"
I turned to face him immediately blushing.
"Yes, your majesty."
"Do you like here?"
"It's nice."
"That's it?"
"Well it doesn't have character. There is no story. It's just some guys painting rooms and arranging plants. Like, can you tell me a story that involved 'home'."
"I guess not..."
"Sorry."
"Don't be. Your right. I'll see what I can do about this."
"Don't be so formal."
"Don't tell me what to do."
I lost all nervousness and from the last sentence it came back to me. This is going bad.
"Nice to meet you, Scarlett," he said and left.
