Benji grumbled as I shifted to crack my fingers. Wiping my hands on my jacket, I lay back against the rocks, absorbing the hot rays of sunshine that beat down on the both of us. It was nice, almost, the calm before the storm - it didn't take a genius to figure out this would be the last time for anything. The last time we could all laugh and joke together, the last time we could gather around fires and share stories, the last time you could hear the birds chirp. I was already, slowly, gathering the supplies to build stone walls around my base.

The sun hung high in the sky as I sat up, marching over to my discarded bag. It was dumb enough we were plotting against him, but I felt dirty and guilty hiding such a secret from him. I swung the satchel over my shoulder, hurrying over to my chest to pull out my compass. The trees rocked and creaked as I looked back towards my dog - Benji lay on the warm rocks, basking in the heat. I needed to head to the community area, but I knew the voyage would be long and tedious. I frantically shoved my remaining food in the leather pocket, hoping that I wasn't too late to try and alert Casper.

<Alistair V: What were the co-ordinates for Molepire?>

<Someone is typing...>

I had found a spare communicator charger a while back, but I was slowly realizing that I was quite possibly the only one with a communicator. I can't say I wasn't thankful for the auto-correct settings I'd found on my device. But where would Casper even be? I thought about the snippets of conversation I'd overheard - he had been arguing with Cat about using the lush cave near spawn, trying to find a loophole in Cat's new rules. Brushing my hair out of my eyes, I looked down to see a notification as I noticed Isaac had replied. Gods, it really was a long trek. The Endian offered to meet me halfway, I took his offer begrudgingly - it wouldn't hurt to have a little company.

I began to hurry down the small hill, trying not to trip over my own feet. I swore loudly as a chicken squawked obnoxiously, its red chin flaps wobbled as it plodded over to me. I glared at the poultry, before smacking it a few times with my hand. A small puff of smoke erupted from its dead carcass as small translucent orbs of XP dropped. I snatched up the handful of feathers, stalking off towards the abandoned stone fortress. I climbed over the terracotta hill, stopping at the top as I took in my surroundings.

A colorful, but empty wasteland lay in front of me, the dotted variety of bushes and towering mesa pillars looming farther than the eye could see. Jagged cliffs dropped into old mine-shafts as large clumps of clay sat obtusely on the plains. I think I must've taken a wrong turn? I turned back to face where I had come from, but it didn't look like the normal trail I'd take. Fuck. I pulled my compass up, trying to think about this logically. If Molepire was West from my Southeasterly base and I was currently facing... I glanced down at my compass, which pointed in a Southwestern direction, I must need to head in a Northwestern direction! I spun on my heel, dashing off to meet up with the Endian.

"I got lost, sorry," Isaac half smiled, standing up from his sitting position on an abandoned chest. I'd just emerged from the canopy of dark oak trees, my hair littered with twigs and leaves as I'd hurtled quickly through the branches. As he stood up to his full height, his darkened, pointed ears twitched as his lilac eyes pierced my own storm-grays. I bit into a piece of bread as we walked towards spawn, the silence slowly becoming uncomfortable and stiff. A frog hopped in front of us and it took all my strength not to recoil as Isaac stepped on it, the guts of a toad smeared across the planks of wood and his classy shoes.

The old bridge connecting Evie's fortress and the acres of land called Molepire creaked as we both strode over. My throat was hoarse, sprinting to meet with Isaac probably wasn't a good idea.
