The Robot Rewrite

Introduction

Hello and welcome to another episode rewrite! I enjoyed the last one a lot and I knew there were definitely some more episodes I'd like to rewrite.

This time it's The Robot, though not because I dislike the ep, but because I thought I could improve upon it and rewrite it in my own way.

I changed some small things initially like rewriting a few bits of dialogue to make Gumball a little nicer to Bobert at the start since he's supposed to be trying to help him, and also adding an explanation for why Gumball arrived home so late, but the main thing I wanted to change was Anais falling for Bobert's disguise.

I could definitely see Richard and Darwin falling for it, and even Nicole at a stretch, since she'd be tired and stressed from a long day of work and not be thinking straight, but Anais is the second smartest person in Elmore besides Bobert himself, there's no way she would ever fall for a disguise as poor as his.

This one change then led the entire second half of the story in a totally different, much more cute heartwarming and honestly much more fun direction, which you'll see when you read it, and I'm really, really happy with how it turned out.

I absolutely adore the scenes of both Anais and Gumball outside and the last scene between Gumball and Bobert. The last scene in particular shows an important message I thought the original episode should have included in some way but didn't, which is you don't need to change or pretend to be someone you aren't to get people to like you.

This is definitely quite a lot longer than a normal episode would be, so imagine this as more of an alternate extended version of the episode rather than a straight-up rewrite.
