Thundering steps came towards the slightly broken door. I knew who it was and ran towards the bed. I climbed on and clambered to the corner, leaning against the wall. My eyes widened when the door bursted open. "DID YOU BREAK THE DOOR!?" my father shouted at me. I flinched. He was gonna beat me again. He came towards me.
Mother soon came in and held him away from me. "don't hurt her!" She told him. He pushed her away. "WHY WOULD YOU DEFEND THIS DEMON!?" he shouted angrily at her. "she's just a child!" My mother replied. He went off to have his tantrum, breaking stuff in the next room over. Mom looked towards me in concern as I climbed off my bed and ran towards her. "mom!" I exclaimed as I hugged her tightly. "it's alright Ashlynn. Everything will be alright" she told me, trapping me in a hug as she comforted me while my heart was beating fast. "why do you put up with him?" I croaked out. "I have my reasons to. Don't worry though, he won't be here for long" she told me, patting my head.
I smiled and let go of her. She went out of my room and I stayed inside. I sighed and cleaned up. This usually happened when I get to my breaking point. "Dinner's ready!" I heard mom from the hall since our house was only one story high.
I walked into the kitchen, seeing dinner at the table. Father came in, took his plate and went to his office where he probably will be checking if her could exorcise me. I'm not too thrilled about that, I'd rather not have that happening.
I and mom ate in silence and once I was done, I went back to my room. Jacob wasn't there unfortunately but it was alright. I just wish he would be around for longer but he's probably super busy. He is the prince of hell after all. I played with a few toys until dusk and then went to bed since it was my bedtime.
I looked around, this was my grandparents house. "Hello?" I asked since there wasn't anyone there. "Ashlynn?" I heard a familiar voice. Suddenly, footsteps where heard, coming straight towards me. "Ashlynn! There you are, I waited for you!" It was Jacob coming around the corner. I wore a grin on his face. My eyes widen. "since when could you come into dreams!?" I questioned him. "I learned how to! Now, I can be there, at least mentally when I can't come physically!" He told me, happily. I smiled widely and ran up to him, giving him a bear hug. "So we can be together?" I asked him in disbelief. "Yeah! As long as I'm not busy." He told me, hugging back. We talked for hours that probably was a few minutes or so before the scenery changed.
We were now in a flower field but not just any flower field, a flower field filled with burning flowers. They were pretty, even if they were on fire. They are called flames, like fire. It wasn't a creative name for a burning flower but it got the job done. Since it's a dream, my feet didn't hurt so I could walk on them if I wanted to. Jacob were picking some up and made a flaming flower crown. He looked at me and showed it to me. "For you." He told me and put it on top of my head. I grinned and bowed playfully. "Thank you, my dear prince" I said in a more formal tone, a glint of playfulness in my eyes. He grinned, playing along. "of course, my princess" he bowed. "But uh, I want to ask something of you." He told me, looking away and scratching his neck. I tilted my head, curious of what he wanted to ask. "Is it okay if I, uh... Practice my possession on you? You don't have to if you don't want to!" He ask and reassured. "yeah, you can!" I chirped, happy to help him.
Suddenly, I started to fade as I slowly got the feeling of being shaken. "Well, that's our cue to wake up, yeah?" He said and laughed, making me laugh with him. "Cya again, sometime." I told him and he agreed.
I woke up to the morning sun and my mom, shaking me. "Wake up sleepyhead." She said, smiling at me. "get yourself dressed, then eat breakfast. I prefer before we go to your school." She said and walked out. I groaned. I didn't want to go back, the bullies will be there. Kate will probably spread rumors about me being possessed or demonic and I don't want to deal with that. I got up anyways, tok of my pyjamas and put on my clothes for the day, consisting of a red T-shirt with a horse print on it, black pants and a purple and white striped shirt. I wasn't good with fashion.
I brushed my hair and went to brush my teeth. Once done, I went to the kitchen with a hair tie so my mom could style my hair for me since I didn't know how. Mom, luckily were in the kitchen and she helped putting up my chocolate brown hair into a ponytail. I ate my breakfast and we were off to my hell called school.
