Jaden pov

It has been awhile since I was out and about... correction, allowed out and about. It felt like I was new to this all over again. My parents never cared but mike definitely did. He'd assume that a guy would want to hit on me if I was without him and that I'd probably cheat on him with said guy. He use to come up with the craziest scenarios. Thinking back on it let's me know that it was a good decision letting go. If only he could too.

I sighed as I looked in the mirror. I had on a floral dress, my brown Birkenstock, and a denim jacket. My hair was down with a braid on one side. Mike would hate to see me like this but how would gelo feel? I hated how I let mike control my thoughts now. I shook the thought of his words out of my head.

"This is a fresh start jay" I told myself looking in the mirror at my attire.

I kept questioning it and being indecisive on what I was wearing

I kept questioning it and being indecisive on what I was wearing.

Maybe this was too formal or too causal? Maybe my body didn't sit the right way in the dress? Maybe the bag didn't match the shoes enough? Maybe I should stop thinking about it and just walk out the door?

In the middle of my cloudy thought, I hear a knock on her dorm room door. I take a deep breath, grab a white zip up jacket and open the door. Just as I suspected, gelo was right behind it. I smiled softly and my eyes lit up. We weren't anything but friends but I liked how he took interest in me. I decided to use up the free time I have just so he could take me out on a date. He was dress semi formal; white polo shirt,  a pair of khakis, and a pair of white Alexander McQueens on.

"Hey j, you look... amazing" his soothing words and amazed facial expressions made all my worries go away.

"Thanks gelo. You look good I guess" he smacked his teeth and I laughed a little.

"I'm joking, you look great" he smiled

"You ready to go?" He asked. I nodded and walked out the room and down the hallway with him.

I felt my phone buzz and decided to check it before it was too late or not the best decision. I pull it out of my purse and tapped the screen to uncover the message. Once I read what it pertained to I got goosebumps.

I miss you Jaden. I'm coming to you girl. You're foolish if you don't think I know you so well.. see you soon

I froze. Did he knew where I was? If he did, would he try to harm gelo or me? Questions ran in my head like people at a track race. I was too worked up to realize gelo was here with me.

"Jay is everything okay?" He asked sounding deeply concerned.

"Yea I just... I thought I forgot my badge" I looked in my bag and pulled it out showing him I had it.

"Oh okay. Everything okay now, right?" I hesitated. I just met the man, how could I lie to him so soon? It almost seemed like I didn't have a choice.

"Yea of course" I smiled softly, assuring him I was fine even if I wasn't. He seem skeptical but he let it go and we continued walking.
