Finney couldn't stop thinking about that kiss—and his friend, god, he felt awful. When Vance told him about his crush he felt guilty for nothing, now he truly had a reason to feel that way.

The following day he went over to Bruce's room to break it off because it was the right thing to do, but that only led to him pulling Bruce into another kiss. Then, he pulled Bruce away during lunch to try again... and that led to them making out as well—it just wasn't working—they couldn't stop.

Finney could've told Bruce why they couldn't date but he didn't want to do that to Vance so he simply told him to keep it a secret, so he did.

And that poem, Finney still needed to give Bruce the poem. Vance had began to take notice that he hadn't yet so the boy had to lie and say he was waiting for the right moment. Vance suggested giving it to him at the monthly party—Finney was officially trapped. He had to tell Vance, but he loved him so much and didn't want to lose that friendship.

Either way, something would go wrong

Finney and Bruce had been secretly dating for about a week and everything was going well—as well as things could've gone—but that was good enough for them... until he showed up and ruined everything.

It was morning time as Finney walked over to Bruce who was sitting on the side of the fountain. Vance was close behind him so they kept their distance as they smiled at each other with hearts in their eyes. "Hey," Finney smiled as he sat down. "Hello," Bruce greeted back as the two lovers fell into a nice yet awkward silence though somehow the peace was almost immediately interrupted, not even by Vance, but by a football.

The object flew fast as it landed in the fountain just behind the group, splashing the friends with water which they defenitely didn't appreciate. "What the hell?" Bruce yelled looking up to see a familiar face that he wasn't expecting to see. "My bad," The tall jerk said before stopping in his tracks. Finney's eyes widened as well though Vance wasn't sure what the hell the issue was.

"Holy shit, Bruce, long time no see!" The jock pulled him into a hug which he successfully escaped as he hit the guy in the arm. "Fuck off Nathan!" He yelled. "You can't just come back after you did what you did," Bruce scoffed.

Vance furrowed his eyebrows and went over to Finney. "Who's that?" He asked. "That's the stupid football player! The one Bruce supposedly got to six base with," Vance shook his head. "I thought you said he was expelled or something?" Finney sighed. "I mean, I thought so,"

After the whole fiasco Nathan moved to Spain or something but he was back and Bruce wasn't ready for that.

Bruce picked up the ball from the fountain and returned it to Nathan in hopes that he'd leave though he wasn't backing off, refusing to take the ball back. "I said go! You can't just spread rumors about people because they don't want to have sex with you!" Nathan snickered. "But they weren't just rumors were they..." The jock reached out to touch Bruce who swiped his hand away swiftly.

"Yes, they were, sorry to burst your bubble."

Vance was getting annoyed by this fucker so he stepped in. Bruce said he didn't want Vance to fight his battles but someone had to. "You should probably leave," He said recieving a scoff. "Who's this?" Nathan turned to Bruce who didn't answer so he turned back to Vance.  "Really? What are you gonna do?" The two were completely  prepared to fight but they were interrupted by a teacher. "Is there a problem here?" She asked, both teens shook their heads. "No," Nathan smirked before taking the football from Bruce's hands and walking away.

Bruce watched in annoyance which only grew when Vance placed his hand on his shoulder, he shook the hand off. "See you at the party, I guess" He muttered before beginning to walk away. "You're still going to the party? That doesn't seem like a good idea," Vance suggested eyeing Nathan and Bruce snapped. "I can take care of myself, thank you, but please stop looking for a fight," He scoffed. "I'm not looking for a fight, that asshole was fucking with you, sorry if trying to get him to leave counts as being a jerk,"

"Whatever," Bruce muttered as he walked away, this time not stopping.  "I'm sorry!" Vance yelled but he didn't turn back around. "Shit," He turned to Finney who wasn't sure what to do either. "I fucked it up," He ran his fingers through his hair anxiously. Finney shook his head. "He'll come around, okay?"

Vance didn't believe that at all.
