***SUMI'S POV

Have you ever awakened one day, that you don't even have an identity? No memories? You feel dumb and numb all over.It was all I'm feeling right now. I just opened my eyes and I feel strange. Everything and everyone surrounds me are not familiar. I knew I'm alive because I'm breathing. I laughed on my thoughts. It's really weird. I still don't have strength to move but I can see people surrounding me wearing all white and the light are so bright above me. When I tried to look at my side I saw a man wearing a white mask holding a thing that must have revived me and also I see a certain monitor that shows lines which keep on running just beside me. "What happened?" I asked myself.

"Nurse Nina, please check her vital signs."

"Finally, Doc she has opened her eyes." I can't hear them but I do understand what they are saying. "Why I'm like this? I can't hear any sound.

Marami pa akong nakitang parang ini-instruct ng doctor sa mga nurses na umaasikaso sa akin pero muli akong hinila ng antok. "All the while ba ay wala akong ginawa kung hindi ang matulog?" I let myself to be in the darkness again

"You need to open your eyes!"That someone calls to me. Nababasa ko sa kanyang mga labi pero hindi ko makita ang buo niyang mukha. It was the only thing I remember before I open my eyes again.

Medyo nasilaw pa ulit ako sa liwanag na tumambad sa akin pero sinubukan kong sinanay ang aking paningin upang makakita. Nauuhaw ako. Sobrang tuyo ng lalamunan ko na kahit paglunok ay nahihirapan akong gawin. "Nasaan ba ako?" And why I feel empty?" Pakiramdam ko my kulang sa pagkatao ko. "Wait...Who am I by the way? Why the hell I can't remember my name?"

Sa ganoon akong pag-iisip ng bumukas ang pinto ng silid at pumasok ang isang may edad na babae. She's wearing a nurse uniform. Automatikong nanlaki ang mga mata niya nang makitang gising ako at nakatingin sa kanya ng deretso. Dali-dali itong lumapit sa aking kama.

"Ms. Lauchengco, how is your feeling? Do you need anything?" Sunod-sunod na tanong nito. Tinawag niya akong Ms. Lauchengco. Kinapa ko ang aking sarili if its ring a bell. But NO, theres nothing I can remember.

"Water, please. I want water!" saad ko sa kanya. Taranta naman siyang kumuha ng tubig sa bedside table.

After kong uminom ng tubig ay muli kong iginala ang aking paningin sa loob ng silid. Malaki at maluwang ang silid. May nakita rin akong mini ref sa ilalim ng aircon.

"Ms. Lauchengco, may kailangan pa po ba kayo?" Ang nurse na humarang pa talaga sa tinitingnan ko para lang mapansin ko siya. Shes asking me if I still need anything. And there... realization struck me. I know what she is saying but actually I can't hear her. Napakunot pa ang noo ko sa kanya. Nag-aalala na rin siya base sa mukha niya.

"I already call your doctor Ms. Lauchengco may iba ka pa bang nararamdaman? Tell me." Dagdag pa ng nurse.

"What happened to me? Who am I? Why can't I remember anything?" Sunod - sunod kong tanong na ikinatahimik lamang ng kaharap ko. She just stared at me saka pa lamang pumasok ang doctor at isa ring nurse.

"We still need a thorough test regarding your condition Ms. Lauchengco. Kakausapin ko ang ama mo tungkol dito." Deklara ng doctor matapos ang ginawa niyang orientation at check-up sa akin.I can't hear any sound from him but I can read what he is saying through his lips.
