I took a nervous breath as I looked back at khalil and the other gang members. They were in a black tinted range rover, parked on the side of the road watching me as I walked along the now lonely roads of one of Jamaica's well known prostitution areas.
I am scared because I can already feel it in my gut that i'll be taken tonight. Alot of things normally happen at this time when majority of the prostitutes are at work and those who havent gotten any Jobs on spot are being watched by their pimps waiting for a car to drive by.
Right now with me posing as a newbie I know i'll gain the attention. I just hope I get it from the right person...
"If yuh wah stop and turn back now is the time." I heard khalil's voice in my ear as he spoke through the little wireless air plug in my ear.
I didnt respond, instead I continued walking so he would know I was serious about this job.
As I walked I pulled down the short spandex dress I had on. The cool air of the early morning made goose bumps fill my skin. My heart rate sped up as soon as I saw the distant reflection of headlights infront of me.
There's a car behind me.
I clinged to the little empty purse I had over my shoulders as I pretended to ignore it. Like I thought it followed me until it slowed down next to me. The person driving rolled down the window and I immediately remembered his face from my father's gang.
He's one of them.
And he knows me...
"Weh a pretty brownin like you a do yasso?" He asks, his hand is hanging out of the window, as he undresses me with his eyes. Apart of me was a bit scared to speak because what if he recognizes my voice?
