26. Miko

i placed my arms around the box and looked at the walls. i could see a faint smile, and a small girl that sat in the walls. 
"Hello!" they said smiling at me.

"um hi, who are you?" i asked looking at her with a puzzled face.

"i am a guardian of the forest names Miko, how about you?" her smile felt soft and heart-warming to me. like she cared about me.

"im george a silly angel that just got lost and swapped with a copy." she looked over at me confused then picked up a small piece of paper and gave it to me.

"Would you like to come to the forest. it is a small calming space; we could talk more there." Miko said printing that same small smile on her face, i nodded wanting to get out the tight box.
"Alright close your eyes and dream that you are in a forest!" she yelled. i closed my eyes and repeated what she had said in my head till i opened them...

"Wow this is beautiful," i was sat on a small patch of grass next to a small waterfall, huge mushrooms and trees where all around me and once again Miko. 

"So, George, do you mind telling me by what you meant before?" she asked hopping down from a mushroom and placing her feet in the water.

"Well i was just replaced i saw myself and then i was in a box. that's when you came in but i think whoever was replacing me said 'i was forgotten in your shadow. that was all i was, now i will the spotlight i needed, you were the top kid and the Gods adored you, after all you were my first love and will always be my last...'   then they just disappeared." i said, with a slight displeased tone. 

"i remember when my family had left me here when i was a kid. it was a safety rule that all young ghosts stay back and guard the place while the new adults go and explore the world." she paused turning her head back to me, "it gets lonely here since i do not age every human i bring back dies within a few months but you're a angel so i have you as a friend forever," she smiled splashing the water up with her hands.

"What was your family like." i asked, wanting to know more of what these people were like.

"Well i had an older brother and an older brother and sister, they were twins. i was the youngest and was always hated for being too weak to protect them when we were attacked when are parents had left. i was discarded into a plane of darkness by my parents. i was forgotten about till the chamber had broken i awoke here where i was born. no one was around but over time. two men walked in and handed me a small little boy. although he was there Infront of me. he saw me as an imaginary friend." Miko started to cry before getting up and climbing into a hole in a tree trunk.

"Hey, don't leave... I'm sorry for asking." i looked her straight in the eye. She laughed then fell back onto the padded hole in the trunk. 

"i sleep in here, feel free to sleep in that one there." she pointed to a tree with a hanging swing. there was a hole of the side and flowers all around.
"i think it's time we go to sleep anyways i don't know when you last slept but you might need to rest."

I climbed the small steps of the walls of the trunk and got in. it had flowers and a small pack of food Aswell as a closing door just in case. i looked out to see miko smiling at me.

"there's a small light above you so you can close the door and turn on the light, if you hungry there's food and if you get cold there's a blanket." she smiled on last time before closing her door.

i flicked on the light and closed the door before taking a bite out of the rice ball that was wrapped up in a colourful box. with a green ribbon laying close on top. 

i smiled as i enjoyed the nice snack while it lasted, before placing my head on a small pillow and shutting my eyes. i felt like i was floating, my body so full of nothing ness. i was empty, like i had been forgotten.
