Nothing. No answer
"Uh, Kade... hi I- I just wondered if you could pick me up... please, don't worry if you can't it's fine" I said, hanging up quickly
Did I sound too needy now?

Asking him to pick me up from a random house because I was scared of a boy
That's all he was
The scary man that had been haunting my head was just a boy a little older than me.

I headed back inside, taking deep breathes
"You okay kins?" Mom asked as I walked back in
I nodded, offering her a weak smile as I sat back down.

The dinner was torture
My parents talking to him about work
Their daughter Liana picking at H... Huxley as much as she could
And he took it, they were like normal squabbling siblings

And yet every look he threw my way was cold. Telling me to keep my mouth shut and behave.

"You were a little quiet tonight Kins, bad day?" Mom asked as we made our way home
"Yeah I guess" I said, looking out the window and opting to stay silent for the car ride too
I didn't know what to say to them.

Your friends' son broke into our house a few days ago.
And he scared the hell out of me.

When we finally did get home I quickly excused myself to bed
Sending yet another text to Kade before sleeping
It was worth the shot.

Kade's POV

"That was better" Parker said, as Tommy pulled his boxing gloves off
All this stress had built up and the only way I knew how to let it out was fighting
Punching my problems out of my head
"Ah finally, can we go now?" Tommy asked, ready to get back to the house.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Elijah asked
"Chaska's made dinner" he shrugged
Elijah rolled his eyes at him, pulling my gloves off for me
I picked my phone up, checking what I'd missed over the last few hours as Tommy ran ahead of everyone back to the house.

Kingsley- missed call
1 voicemail
Kingsley
- Just wanted to text good night, forget about the voicemail, it doesn't matter anymore.

Voicemail? What did she call for?
I listened to the message she left for me
And my heart sank at her words
She wanted me to pick her up
From where? Was she okay?
She sounded scared
Where is she now?

"Are you coming?" Elijah asked from the doorway
"No. No I've got to go" I said, finally looking away from the screen, from her text that didn't settle my worry
"Where?" He asked
I ignored him, walking out the gym and heading for my car.
