Second Chances: Supergirl

Chapter 1

Sorry for such a long delay, but I wanted to make sure I took my time to plan as much as I could before I got started on the actual stories. Eventually I realized I was just procrastinating, but now, here's the new and improved version of Second Chances.

The last thing Kara remembered before she blacked out was being next to J'onn, Kate, Ryan and to displeasure, Lex Luthor, at the dawn of time after Barry and Sara went to investigate the scene where Oliver fought the Anti-Monitor which resulted in a huge explosion.

The next thing she remembered was that she was back in her own bed in her apartment in National City. What she didn't understand was how. Then she remembered what Oliver had said after they'd all arrived at the dawn of time. How they were going to rebirth the universe. The fact that her loft existed again was proof enough that it worked.

Kara smiled as she got out of bed and walked over to the window, where she opened the curtains and smiled as she felt the light and warmth of the sun hitting her skin. Something she'd missed during that past month stuck at the vanishing point. She could even feel the sunlight recharging her powers, since while the brief stint on Maltus had helped, it hadn't been the same. But now she felt better than she had in awhile. The sun was recharging her solar energy reserves.

However, when Kara opened her eyes, she was surprised to find herself in what could only be Mar Novu's realm, standing in front of the man himself and she was glad she'd been wearing pajamas when she woke up in this reality.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were dead?" Kara asked him and Novu chuckled.

"The same could be said of everyone else in this new world." Novu pointed out.

"Fair enough. But it worked. We managed to give the multiverse a reboot?" Kara asked and Novu nodded.

"Yes. But several things about the world you are in now are different from the old one. The most significant one being that your earth is no longer just your's." Mar Novu said.

"Meaning?" Kara asked, since that was confusing, since of course the world wasn't just her's.

Novu chuckled before elaborating.

"What I mean is that when Oliver Queen created the new universe, the process involved caused your earth to merge with his, along with a few others. This means that you will now be living in the same world as the other paragons." Novu explained.

"So now they won't have to open a breach to my world whenever they need my help." Kara said, since honestly, something that had annoyed her before was that Oliver and Barry had always been quick to come to her Earth when they needed her help, but they never returned the favor. Granted, things on her Earth never got to the point where she needed to call them in, but still.

"That is correct. And since I know you are going to ask me, yes Oliver Queen is still alive in this universe and like yourself and the other paragons, he remembers the old world." Novu said and Kara's blood ran cold.

"Does that include Lex Luthor?" Kara asked, still pissed that Novu had brought Lex back to life.

"I understand your anger at me about Luthor, but he played a necessary part during the Crisis, though it was not the role I initially intended for him. But now that he is no longer useful, I will sanitize his mind of all information of the old world, including your identity." Novu assured her.

"Good. And he knows Superman's identity, feel free to wipe that too." Kara said and Novu nodded.

"Just one more thing before I take my leave. To help you better adapt to this new world, I'm going to give you the memories of your counterpart from it, since you took her place in it when you woke up in this world." Novu said and Kara nodded as Novu waved his hand, both sending Kara back to Earth and also flooding her mind with the memories of her counterpart from this world and she found that the life she'd led on this world was relatively similar to her old one, though there were a few significant changes.

Kara had still been sent to Earth to protect Kal-El when Krypton had exploded, but the shockwave had knocked her pod off course, resulting in her still being stuck in the Phantom Zone for years until her pod got loose, no doubt thanks to Indigo again, but anyways, her pod had still made the trip to Earth and she'd still been brought to live with Danvers family.

She'd still grown up with Alex as her big sister and had moved to National City and worked at Catco Worldwide Media, though in this reality, Kara had skipped over being Cat's assistant, much to her relief, since that was a headache she could do with avoiding, but instead she was now a senior reporter at Catco. The only downside was that she had yet to reveal herself to the world as Supergirl. Something that she intended to change as soon as the opportunity presented itself. But first, she had other things to take care of. Like finding the rest of her team and someone to actually make her suit. But first, she had to get ready for work.
