Nia Nal was starting to get tired, which was ironic considering she was currently trapped in the dream realm. She'd been stuck there ever since the multiverse had been wiped out during Crisis, since right before the antimatter wave hit, her powers had sent her into the dream realm, which had saved her, but also trapped her in the dream dimension.

However, there was one good thing about the endless isolation and that was that it had given her time to learn more about her powers, especially since time did not exist in the dream realm and she also finally found the mentor she'd been lacking her entire time as the dreamer. The original Naltorian dreamer. And it was thanks to her guidance that Nia was now in better control of her powers than she'd ever been before. She'd learned to fully master her abilities, including dream interpretation, which had always been her weakness. Under the guidance of the original dreamer, Nia not only learned to fully master her powers, she also learned to level them up to brand new heights she'd never thought possible and she could tell that even after all her training, she'd still only scratched the surface of what her power could do.

Among the other things Nia had learned to do, she'd learned to use her powers to open portals into the dream realm and then open another portal to any location she wanted too. She could basically use the dream realm to teleport anywhere she wanted to. Or at least she'd be able to if there was a world for her to teleport to.

And eventually, there was. After about a month, or at least Nia thought it was a month, since it was hard to tell since time didn't really exist in this realm, she began to get flashes of a new life that she'd never lived. The original Dreamer had explained to Nia that a new multiverse had been born while she was in the dream realm, thanks to her friends Kara and J'onn among others and Nia asked why she couldn't have joined them, but the original dreamer explained that was a fight Nia wasn't meant to be a part of, since while she was powerful, she was not a paragon. Besides, she still had training to complete. And as she did, she learned that the memory flashes she was getting were from her counterpart on the new world, which she was slowly merging with as she continued her training.

Now Nia had finally completed the merging process and she'd finished her training under the OG dreamer, who told her that she was more powerful than any other dreamer who'd ever come before her and that there was a reason she'd been chosen to receive these powers instead of Maeve. She was the Dreamer and she should never doubt it.

Now it was time for her to finally leave the dream realm and reunite with her friends and family in the real world.

That was why she was currently standing before her teacher, preparing to depart.

"You're sure I'm ready?" Nia asked and the dreamer nodded.

"You've passed every test I've given you with flying colors and you've fully mastered your abilities and the memory merging process is complete. You're ready to return to the world and your friends will need you." the original dreamer said.

"Thank you. For everything you've done to help me. I finally feel like this weight, this insecurity I've been feeling ever since I got my powers is finally gone." Nia said and the Dreamer smiled at her.

"You've completed all the training you could accomplish here, but there is still one more obstacle preventing you from completing your journey." the dreamer said.

"What obstacle?" Nia asked.

"You cannot become all that you're meant to be until you free yourself from the burden of your past. You must confront your sister." the dreamer said.

"You want me to face Maeve after what she said to me? In both realities?" Nia asked, since she could remember the life she'd lived in the new universe and while it was similar to her old life, one major difference was that in the new world, she'd discovered that she'd been the one to inherit the dream powers shortly after she made her transition and had caused Maeve to denounce her and say she wasn't a real woman and the timing about that was worse, since it had been when Nia was still adjusting to her transition and hearing her big sister reject her like that made things even harder. That had also led to Maeve essentially being disowned by their parents and she ran away, though Nia's mother did begin teaching her to control her powers and now Nia wanted to use those powers to help people.

"I'm aware, your sister's attitude is one of the reasons you were chosen over her. But that does not matter. As long as you hold onto this anger at her, you'll never be able to finish your journey and become the Dreamer you were always meant to be and that would be a shame." the Dreamer said.

"You're saying I need to face her if I want to finish this journey?" Nia asked and the Dreamer nodded.

"I guess I have put off speaking to her for too long. Even if it won't change anything between us, I think it's time that I get to speak my mind to her." Nia said, since honestly, she'd been too caught up in shock by what Maeve had said to her to respond back then, but now she was and she knew it was long past time she got to return the favor.

"Okay, I'll do it." Nia said.

"Good, because now it's time for you to go home. You'll appear wherever your counterpart was in the old reality. Once you do that, I suggest you seek out your sister before rejoining your friends." The Dreamer said and Nia nodded as both their eyes glowed with blue dream energy before Nia disappeared in a flurry of dream particles, returning to the real world.
