chapter 5: facing the truth

I am in my room at the phenix mansion contemplating what I heard from ddraig that I am the son of crom cuach.

There is knocking at my door "hey issei you can't stay in there all day as your king come out here," I hear riser saying. I went to my door and opened up my door "yeah I heard you, what you want riser?" I looked at the blonde haired teen in front of me. He sighed in relief in front of me. "Thank Satan, I thought I couldn't reach you." I look at him deadpanned,"you know i ain't dead to the world, right?" He scratched the back of his head "yeah but it seemed like you wanted to close yourself off from society, and my father always taught me to tackle my problems head-on. " I look at like he was an idiot "why you looking at me like that? " I sighed and bowed."Sorry for worrying you, my king, but I had to process some info I learned about myself." he looks serious."I understand, and we will find a way through that now come on we need to get going to gremory training facility." I look at him quizzically."Why are we going there? " I asked, but he had a smirk." That's for me to know and you to find out." I was getting annoyed "Alright give me a minute riser. " he smiled, and I closed my door.

As we got there, I saw more people there, two of whom I know on a friendly basis it was rias and sona. "Hey riser, thank you for bringing your peerage," he shook his head. "Don't think about I am glad to help, considering you will need it against me in our mock battle." I look at riser questionable "mock battle? Why I haven't heard about it?" Riser looks away real quick "well you were in your room contemplating and I haven't had time to tell you. " I shrugged my shoulder cause he was right."Alright then tell me why sona I here?" Sona glared at me."Why do you say it as you don't like my presence?" I sighed."we might be on friendly terms, but I never liked your Cockey attitude. You only train on certain strategies instead of training your peearages' abilities. It's true a good plan will work most of the time, but when your face with overwhelming force, it'd be pointless unless your peerage is confident in their abilities and are strong enough it won't work" I look straight at sona "you sound pretty sure of that fact issei" sona said "here your peerage vs me" riser interjects himself "Alright issei you Train sona peerage and I got rias" I look at him and nod.

I am stronger now. I have almost finished my training with Tannin, so I am a high tier mid class devil. I gave sona 20 min to formulate a plan. I sensed two presenses coming towards me in the woods, one knight and one rook because she is slower than the knight. It seems they are doing a zig zag pattern to distract my attention. Here they come, the knight attacks. First, I dodge easily, and then the rook pulls a punch with her left. "Why isn't she doing a combo with her, right?" I thought then she pulled her right hand back, and she was about to throw a dagger. I see one of her knights dual wields, so she let the rook borrow one hers to disrupt my timing. She throws it I pull my arm up and you hear a high pitch sound. The rook and knight look at me shockingly because I covered my arm with my dragon scales. I look and find sona to see her doing signals, I look behind me and finally see her other knight, I smirked cause I figured if that's a blade from her other knight. She must be an assassin type. I pivoted towards her direction and cooked my leg backward to a spinning kick into the knights stomach. I see the rook is charging towards me. I jumped back but felt something on my arm. "You ain't going anywhere." I heard the blonde haired pawn say. I grabbed the tongue like wire and pulled so hard that he flew towards me. I side step side ways to have him fly right into the rook now they're both down.

I scanned the area to search for sona and her other pieces, and finally, I found them. I started charging at them, her last pieces. They started to circle me while sona, tsubaki, and her bishops were on the outside. I looked for sona and found her. I unfurled my draconian phenix wings and made a smoke screen, and shot a fire ball at tsubaki to distract her. I knock her other piece out in the smoke screen, and then I flash step behind sona. Sona looked around. "Dang it where is he?" sona said in frustration. "How about behind you while you're at it surrender?" Sona was surprised," but how" I laughed "well for one you are to confident in your strategies thinking no one can out smart you" sona sighed "I guess your right since you beat my whole peerage" I look at her and smiled " good since you will be here for 10 days I got a training regiment for your peerage and saji I will be training you personally " saji looked worriedly. "For now get rest we start 6 in the morning" they all nodded
