I walked into the English classroom with Evan, facing out teacher, a middle-aged woman with brown long hair and red, rectangular glasses.

"You must be the new student, right? I'm Miss Pelridge." She said with a smile that I returned while I shook her hand.

"Yes that's me." I confirmed, and looked around at the class, seeing that Evan had stroded over to a huddle of guys that greeted him warmly.

"You can sit in this empty seat next to Kaitlyn over there." She said and pointed towards a seat between one of the guys Evan greeted and a girl with blonde, curly hair and a varsity jacket.

I walked over to the chair and sat down, shooting the girl besides me a small smile that she mirrored.

"Hey there. I'm Kaitlyn. What's your name?" She introduced herself with a bright smile.

"Y/N. I'm new here." I answered as I took out my English textbook. The class shortly begun and we got on with the lesson, leaving me no time to talk more to the girl besides me.

Time Skip

The bell rung and I closed my book, ready to put it in my backpack when the guy on my other side, one of Evan's friends, talked to me.

"Hey, you're Y/N, right? Evan told me you came from San Francisco."  The guy said, extending his hand towards me.

"Yeah, that's me." I shook it briefly, giving him a small smile. "I'm Alex." He said while letting go of my hand. He had brown, ruffled hair on top of his head and a pair of black glasses.

"Hands off, Alex. I want to get to know the new girl." Kaitlyn said from behind me and I chuckled lightly, while she stood up besides me.

Alex lifted his hands up, mocking surrender, and stood up as well to follow his friends. My eyes caught Evan's, who gave me a smile once we made eye contact. He's so handsome.

"Are you coming with me to the caf? You need to get started on what's going on in this school." Kaitlyn said, and I immediately nodded.

"I'm ready for the tea." I said jokingly while we made our way to the caf. It was a huge one, with many tables across it and students huddling around them.

I spotted Alex and Evan sitting at a table with three other guys, seemingly joking with each other.

I sat down with Kaitlyn, who took out a granola bar and started eating it.

"So, beloved Alex over there and the whole group, are actually the most popular guys at school. Theres David, the football team captain, Evan, the pride of the school, Alex, the funny one who no one would anticipate to be such a heartbreaker, Mark, the sour grumpy arse who's acting like a diva, and Peter, who is the school's number one playboy."

Kaitlyn explained in one breath, as I dragged my eyes on every person she mentioned. "That's an odd group." I commented, making Kaitlyn shrug.

"They're really bonded. Wait to see them in a party." She said, and he eyes fell on a girl who approached us. "Hey Tiff, wanna meet the new girl? I was just getting her introduced to our lovely classmates." She said with a smile, as Tiff sat down besides us.

"Oh hi. What's your name?" She asked. She had long brown straight hair in a ponytail and a football team t-shirt. "I'm Y/N. I'm from San Francisco." I said with a smile, while she extended her hand towards me. "I'm Tiffany, call me Tiff. Did Kaitlyn here spill the tea already?" She asked jokingly while we shook hands and I laughed.

"Well, I was about to. See those girls over there? They're drooling over all of the guys. Especially Natalie over Mark. They hooked up in the beginning of the year party and after that they're constantly flirting." She explained, pointing discreetly towards a girl near the boys' table.

"Don't forget Emma, she's obsessed with Evan the way he's obsessed with math. But Evan hates her for some reason. He says she's extremely dramatic." Tiff said rolling her eyes and gesturing at a girl who chatted with Alex at the moment, side-eyeing Evan, who was discussing something too intently with David.

"Seems like you guys have a lot going on in this school, huh." I commented with a chuckle, looking over at Evan. I instinctively curled my fingers around the fabric of his sweater I was wearing, it smelt like smoke and cologne, something that made me feel warm.

"Oh you bet. Wait to see the before Christmas party. That's when things get wild." Kaitlyn stated and I nodded, my gaze meeting Alex's. He nodded at me while the other girl, Emma, was leaving, and gestured for me to go over to the guys' table.

I pointed at myself in disbelief, and Alex nodded with a chuckle, while Tiff nudged my side. "Go to him, he probably wants to introduce you to the others. He's a social butterfly like that." She said with a smile and I stood up, cautiously walking over to the table.

"There she is, the mystery girl. Come join." Alex said and dragged a chair between him and Evan. I sat down, his gaze on my face as I took a seat. "How's it going, Y/N. Evan here told us about you." The guy Kaitlyn said to be Peter said. He sure looked like a playboy, with blonde hair that were messed up on top of his head, blue eyes and a varsity jacket.

"Nothing bad, I hope." I said jokingly, making the guys chuckle. "No, I just told them about how we bumped into each other this morning. I felt so embarrassed afterwards." Evan said, turning to me with a smile.

"Is that his sweater you're wearing?" David asked with a smug smirk on his face, and suddenly blood rushed to my cheeks.

Evan chuckled and pointed at the sweater. "Yeah, hers got wet so I gave it to her." He explained while Alex let out an 'aw' sound.

"Always the same caretaking Evan." Mark said slightly rolling his eyes but having a smile on his face.

"What class do you have now, Y/N?" Alex asked as I pulled out my schedule, looking at it.

"Advanced math, what about you all?" I asked and David groaned.

"Me and Peter are seriously the only ones not taking advanced math in this school?" He stated exasperatedly and Evan nudged his side playfully.

"Of course, you're dumb." He mocked, earning a punch on his shoulder while all the guys laughed. The bell rang shortly after, and I stood up along all of them, meeting the girls midways.

Alex and Kaitlyn seemed to be very close, since when we approached them, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, to what she reacted as if she was annoyed, but I could see she fought back a smile on her lips.

"Alright nerds, see you later. Be careful with them, Y/N." Peter yelled back to us while we took separate ways. I chuckled in response as I walked next to Evan.

"How do you like school so far?" He asked, his hands on his jacket's pockets again.

"It's interesting. And I'm surprised I had some friendly talks this early." I noticed, looking towards the two girls and two boys in front of us. Evan frowned a little.

"Come on, why wouldn't you. Everyone here could be your friend. Except for Peter. He'd get straight to the point of hooking up with you. I'd advise you to stay away, but I have no right to do that." He mentioned while we walked in the hall.

I was surprised by his words. "Thank you for the advice nonetheless, it'll be useful." I responded, giving him a small smile that he returned. We shortly got into class, and I couldn't help but keep wondering what being in this school would hold for me.
