Cheers to 2 years of our very own Mr Hacker aka Vihy baby.......
His beautiful black orbs gazed at the dark night, whose only source of light in the darkness was the dim moon shining shyly among the clouds, as tears accumulated in them......
It wasn't that he didn't miss his mom every single second of his existence but...this day....this damn day had the ability to overpower his emotions beyond limits.......
The happy go lucky facade, which he had gotten used to cry around every single day of his life, would slip away effortlessly, replaced by his bleeding soul.....
Oh if only he had the power to go back in time.....
"Happy birthday to you....happy birthday to you...happy birthday dear vihaan....happy birthday to you...."
His head shot back, hearing her sweet nightingale voice, which would otherwise always be filled with sarcasm and annoyance , curtesy to his antics, as she walked down the stairs into the garden with a chocolate cake in her hand.....
20 years.....20 years since he had last celebrated his birthday......
And why not......
Which kid would like to celebrate the day they lost their mother.......
Celebrate the day which was supposed to be all about cheers and happiness instead turned out to be all about cries and screams
The tears he had been holding in his orbs since morning found their way down his stubbled cheek as riddhima sat infront of him, a beautiful smile gracing her lips, as she slowly held his cold hand in her warm ones and made him cut the cake......
He should have objected....screamed....thrashed at her for breaking the barrier he had built around himself
But he couldn't bring himself to do any of it....
Maybe because....
Somewhere he had waited for this....
Waited for someone to hold his hand and help him walk past the barriers around his heart.....
Waited for someone to see beyond the facade of the happiness he masked around with.......
"Happy birthday Vihu...."
She whispered, brushing her soft lips against his cheek, drinking away his tears.....
Her touch was soft...almost like the fresh breeze....that slowly withdrew the noose that had been hanging around his neck for ages.......
His lips parted, eager to say out something.....anything........
Rather silence was all they managed to mutter.....
But with her....even silence was enough.....
Because she understood......
Understood it all......
Placing the cake on the nearby table, she slowly yet gently wrapped her arm around his torso as her head came to rest over his chest, right above where his heart was beating.......
"I wish i had met you earlier vihaan.....
Life would have been.....BEAUTIFUL....."
Her own voice cracking....on the verge of breakdown as his reluctant hands finally wound around her, snuggling her close to his warmth.....
As the minutes ticked by, he adored the woman in his arms, now in a deep slumber, most peaceful he had ever witnessed her.....
And in that moment......
He made a promise ....not only to himself but also to his dead mother......
That he would protect this angel......no matter what......
