The most noticeable feature of the teenager was his blood-red hair which was slicked back except for two strands that framed his face. His eyes were the color of amber as they watched the humans running around down below. He wore a white shirt beneath a black leather jacket with faux fur lining the collar. Hanging from his neck were two necklaces, one of which had a six-pointed cross.

This was Mikoto Gremory, the second oldest brother to Rias Gremory. Mikoto was only older than Rias by 10 minutes, but instead of him being the Gremory heir, his father gave the title to Rias.
As Mikoto watched the Perverted Trio hide in some bushes, he saw one of them make eye contact with Rias, who was standing at her window looking down at them. Frowning, Mikoto saw the look in Rias's eye even from this far away. He knew that she was going to make that kid into a devil and make him part of her peerage.
"She uses her pieces so recklessly. When will she learn to choose her servants wisely?" Mikoto asked himself as he looked at his sister in disappointment before taking another drag of his cigarette.
"Rias doesn't have the same judgment as you do. That's why she has four pieces while you only have three."
"But my three outclass all of hers," Mikoto said as he finished his cigarette and flicked it away.
Hearing the door open, Mikoto didn't bother to turn around since he knew who it was.
"Mikoto, it's time for class. We better get going," the voice said.
"Sure," Mikoto said as he turned around to see his Bishop, Izumo Kusanagi.

Izumo was Mikoto's only bishop and was a mutation piece since his latent magic was so powerful. Izumo was very powerful and could control fire and use it for all kinds of things, along with using other useful spells like healing or barrier magic.
